2025 Fantasy Outlook
Selected No. 3 overall in 2019, Dach has yet to live up to the expectations of a top-three pick. The 24-year-old has been limited by injuries -- he hasn’t played in more than 58 regular-season games over the last three campaigns. The skilled playmaker had 10 goals, 22 points and an ugly minus-29 rating over 57 regular-season appearances in 2024-25, but he missed the last 25 games due to a knee surgery. While he’s expected to be ready for the 2025-26 season, Dach’s injury history clouds his potential for fantasy. However, Montreal’s upward trajectory combined with Dach being in a contract year could make the right-shot center an interesting late-round target in fantasy drafts, but that’s contingent on him staying healthy. Expect the forward to fill a middle-six role while seeing power-play time, while the possibility of playing on a line with top prospect Ivan Demidov could elevate Dach’s performance. Nets goal in Game 3 win
Dach scored a goal on four shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Sabres in Game 3.
ANALYSIS
Dach has two goals over three games in the second round so far. The 25-year-old has done a decent job of adding depth scoring this postseason, earning four goals, one assist, 10 shots on net, 18 hits, eight PIM and a plus-6 rating over 10 contests. Dach is unlikely to move into the top six, but his physical play gives him a safer floor in fantasy.

2019
Selected by Chicago with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, Dach never quite clicked with the Blackhawks, and after being traded to Montreal, he's shown promise but has been held back due to injuries. He played in only two games last season before tearing his right ACL and MCL, and that's after he was limited to 58 appearances in 2022-23. Combine that with 2020-21 when he played in just 18 contests, and a worrying pattern has emerged. Under ideal circumstances, the 23-year-old has plenty of potential, but it's hard to feel confident about his prospects between his past on-ice struggles and his significant injury history.
