2026 Fantasy Outlook
It was once again an injury-riddled season for Dach in 2025-26. The 2019 No. 3 overall pick got into just 37 regular-season games, collecting eight goals, 15 points, 47 shots and 53 hits while averaging 13:39 of ice time. Talent isn’t the problem for Dach -- he has the size and skill to be an impactful player, but it’s the injuries that have held him back. His best season was in 2022-23, when he put up 38 points in 58 games, which would translate to 55 points over an 84-game season. That type of production would make him a useful depth piece in larger fantasy formats, but until Dach can stay in the lineup on a much more consistent basis, he is hard to trust as anything more than a late-round flier. Gets one-year deal
Dach signed a one-year, $3.6 million contract with the Canadiens on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Dach had eight goals, 15 points, 31 PIM and 53 hits in 37 regular-season outings with Montreal in 2025-26. The 25-year-old has struggled to live up to his potential as a top-six power forward, and his lengthy injury history has certainly been part of the problem. He might surpass his career high of 38 points if he stays relatively healthy this campaign, but he's played in fewer than 60 games in each of the past four regular seasons.

Selected No. 3 overall in 2019, Dach has yet to live up to the expectations of a top-three pick. The 24-year-old has been limited by injuries -- he hasn’t played in more than 58 regular-season games over the last three campaigns. The skilled playmaker had 10 goals, 22 points and an ugly minus-29 rating over 57 regular-season appearances in 2024-25, but he missed the last 25 games due to a knee surgery. While he’s expected to be ready for the 2025-26 season, Dach’s injury history clouds his potential for fantasy. However, Montreal’s upward trajectory combined with Dach being in a contract year could make the right-shot center an interesting late-round target in fantasy drafts, but that’s contingent on him staying healthy. Expect the forward to fill a middle-six role while seeing power-play time, while the possibility of playing on a line with top prospect Ivan Demidov could elevate Dach’s performance.
