FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Tyler Ulis, PHO vs ORL ($5,400)Eric Bledsoe didn't even take the floor Wednesday night and then it was revealed that he'll be shut down for the season. Ulis logged 39 minutes Wednesday and with Brandon Knight banged up and out of favor, he's going to see a ton of minutes. Ulis was already on the DFS radar scoring over a fantasy point per minute over the last nine, showing the amount of upside he has with the minutes increase. Hopefully the hike in price here over the last week will scare owners off.

Terry Rozier, ($4,100) and Marcus Smart ($6,100) BOS at BRO – Brooklyn has gone into tank mode experimenting with bench players and even making questionable moves like giving Trevor Booker a night of rest. The Celtics will be without the services of Isaiah Thomas on Friday, increasing the fantasy value of both guards. In a stretch of a few games back in December that Thomas missed, both saw an uptick of minutes with Rozier playing in the mid-20s and Smart in the mid-30s. Both turned in a nice stretch of fantasy games and should be able to do the same, especially against the worst guard defense in the league. Using both in a GPP would be an interesting strategy.

Malcolm Brogdon, MIL at LAL ($5,000) – Showing he's back to being fully healthy, Brogdon got the starting nod Wednesday night and has one of the better matchups on paper. Over the last 10 games, the Lakers have given up 56.2 fantasy points to opposing point guards and have given up the third most on the season. This game opened with a a five-point spread, as well, suggesting it won't be a blowout.

Denzel Valentine, CHI at WAS ($3,700) – Here's a solid punt-play for tonight given that Dwyane Wade has been ruled out for the season. Like Ulis, Valentine should have already been on the DFS radar with games of 21, 19 and 25.9 fantasy points in three of his last four. His minutes have been secure in the mid-20s and he should soak up some of the minutes left behind by Wade.

Brandon Ingram, LAL vs MIL ($4,400) – The price is finally starting to creep up, but it easily should be over $5K by now. Ingram's getting more run, playing minutes in the 30's in five of his last six games. In those five games, he's scored at least 22.3 fantasy points, putting him over a 5X in all of those contests. His playing time is very secure; in a 39-point loss Wednesday he still managed to spend 39 minutes on the court.

Trevor Ariza, HOU at NO ($5,200) – Here's a cheap way to get a piece of the game that sports the highest over/under total of the night. Ariza has shown more consistency lately but a bad run and matchups at the end of February has depressed his price. For the first time in nine games, he didn't play 30-plus minutes due to a blowout but this matchup should be much more competitive. Ariza has at least 20 fantasy points in his last five games with two of those in the 30s, demonstrating a nice floor and ceiling.

Dirk Nowitzki, DAL at PHI ($6,300)Nerlens Noel ($5,800) is in play here as well, as the 76ers been the worst team in the league at giving up points to opposing centers lately. Over its last 10 games, Philadelphia has given up 65.4 fantasy points to opposing centers, the most in the league by almost 10 fantasy points. On top those stats, Nowitzki has been fantastic in DFS this season, and has scored at least 32.4 fantasy points in four of his last six games.

Ivica Zubac, LAL vs MIL ($4,100) – One of the basic strategies of playing DFS is to have a short memory and investigate why things went wrong. Zubac is coming off a horrible game in which he accumulated a paltry 5.9 fantasy points. A closer look at what happened shows he got in foul trouble and never got things going. Zubac will remain the starter for the rest of the season with the Lakers in evaluation mode and has a good spot to bounce back at home. The Bucks have given up the sixth most fantasy points to opposing centers on the season and Zubac had games of 40.7, 23.2, 23.7 and 21.7 over his previous four before Wednesday's dud.

Alan Williams, PHO vs ORL ($5,800) – The Suns seem to be fine with continuing to let Alex Len start and then turning to Williams for minutes off the bench. He's come out of nowhere and has at least 33.4 fantasy points in five of his last eight games. Williams has shown a good rapport with Ulis, so the increased minutes for him should help as well. Orlando is playing the second night of a road back-to-back and are a league-average team defending the center position.
