FanDuel NBA: Friday Picks

FanDuel NBA: Friday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Monta Ellis, IND at TOR ($4,500) – This might seem like an off pick considering Ellis is coming off a 9.1 fantasy-point dud. However, that can be easily dismissed considering it came against Tony Allen and the Memphis defense/slow pace. Before that game, Ellis had at least 20 fantasy points in seven of his previous eight, and his minutes have gone up since entering the starting lineup. The Raptors have given up the 10th most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards over their last five games, so this isn't a matchup to shy away from.

Buddy Hield, SAC at NO ($5,100) – Hield has scored 6.9 and 17.8 fantasy points over the last two games but that's easily explainable given the matchups with Utah and Memphis. Before that, he scored at least 28.4 fantasy points in four straight games. The Kings spent a lot on him and want him to get as much experience as possible through the end of the season. It also helps that New Orleans has given up the eighth most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season.

T.J. McConnell, PHI at CLE ($5,600) – Spoiler alert: there is more than one
player to consider from the 76ers tonight. With Sergio Rodriguez ruled out for the third straight game, it would seem logical that McConnell, who has played 35 and 37 minutes in his last two, would be in line for a similar amount of work. It's possible that Irving will this one out, as well, but even if he plays, the Cavaliers have given up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing point guards on the season.

Justin Anderson, PHI at CLE ($3,600) – Anderson was a popular play Wednesday night after Robert Covington was ruled out. He played 25 minutes and finished with only 15.9 fantasy points (4.4X value), disappointing many. Hopefully that will get DFS players off him tonight even though he's in a similar situation. There's low risk here with Covington already ruled out, so Anderson makes for a low-risk pick that should be able to deliver at least 4X value.

Terrence Ross, ORL at BOS ($4,400) – Ross has settled in nicely as the starting small forward for the Magic and has strung together a nice set of games over the last 10 days. He's scored at least 24 fantasy points in five straight games (5.4X at this price), averaging over 32 minutes over that span. Over the last five games, the Celtics have given up the third most fantasy points to small forwards, too.

Zach Randolph, MEM vs DAL ($5,600) – This should be a very slow-paced game, but with no Marc Gasol, Randolph should become one of the main scorers along with Mike Conley. This is purely a cash game play and there's every reason to fade him in GPPs given how popular he'll likely be. Furthermore, over their last four games, the Mavericks have given up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing power forwards.

Clint Capela, HOU at GS ($5,600) - Capela has been a steady force for the Rockets, and it helps that Nene Hilario has already been ruled out tonight. In five straight games, he's scored at least 26.8 fantasy points (4.8X value), showing a solid floor.
