Closer Watch

Atlanta – Arodys Vizcaino ran into trouble in two outings last week, but he pitched a scoreless ninth inning during a tie game with the Blue Jays Tuesday and was rewarded with his third win of the season. Vizcaino has been lights out aside from those two recent games.

Detroit – Bruce Rondon allowed a run Tuesday, but earned his fifth save. He remains the best bet for save opportunities in Detroit, though his 17 walks in 28 innings are cause for great concern.

Tampa Bay – With Brad Boxberger allowing four runs Monday and Jake McGee still sidelined, the Rays turned to Brandon Gomes Tuesday for his first save of the season. McGee is due back pretty soon, and he and Boxberger should be the players in the mix for saves of the season's final weeks.

Recommended Pickup

Nolan Reimold, OF, BAL – The Orioles have shown a commitment to Reimold, starting him eight games in a row after calling him up September 6 before giving Reimold a day off Tuesday. Reimold is 10-for-29 with three home runs and seven RBIs over that time. Take a grain of salt, after Reimold was sent down late last month after hitting 5-for-27 with no extra-base hits for the month of August. He is a hot bat and the Orioles have deployed him in the leadoff spot. Baltimore has lots of big name free agents this offseason and they know they can't sign them all. In all likelihood, the Orioles are trying to decide whether to invest in Reimold as a cheaper alternative in order to invest in other decisions. It looks like Reimold will get a long look during the remainder of the season.

Other Recent Recommendations:Corey Seager, Steven Souza, Colby Rasmus, Marcus Stroman, Vidal Nuno, Carl Crawford
