2026 Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Judkins has a fairly simple range of outcomes -- if he's healthy he should lock into starting mainstream fantasy utility, whereas if he's limited by injury the season might be a struggle. Judkins suffered a season-ending dislocated right ankle in Week 16, cruelly cutting short what was otherwise a clearly promising debut for Judkins. The broader struggles of the Cleveland offense landed hard on Judkins as the Browns found themselves unable to throw the ball, but Judkins probably outplayed his box score and that box score wasn't even so bad. His 3.6 yards per carry was an acceptable figure given how uniquely dysfunctional the Browns were on offense, an outcome precipitated by a downpour of injuries on the offensive line. The offensive line should be more stable in 2026, so that in theory should at least slightly stabilize the production of Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders or whoever else might start at quarterback for Cleveland in 2026. If Cleveland gets into scoring range then a healthy Judkins has shown the stuff necessary to convert those opportunities into touchdowns, yet despite his undeniable talent there remain both injury and surrounding cast concerns with Judkins going into 2026. There is room in the Cleveland offense for both Judkins and fellow 2025 draft pick Dylan Sampson to coexist, with Sampson presumably getting most of his work in passing-down or/and hurry-up situations. Even if he doesn't get many pass-catching opportunities Judkins should get enough work as a runner, including in goal-line situations, to make it work anyway in fantasy. Furthermore, if Judkins sits during passing situations it would be in acknowledgment of his heavy rushing workload rather than doubt over his receiving ability. Judkins has been at least serviceable as a receiver going back to college, but his high-volume rushing workload sometimes means his rest comes in the form of surrendering target opportunities. Rehabbing at voluntary minicamp
Judkins (ankle) was spotted in uniform and rehabbing at the start of Cleveland's voluntary minicamp Tuesday, Dylan Feltovich of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Judkins' exact participation level is difficult to determine, with Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland reporting that the 2025 second-round pick participated in on-field activities in some capacity, while Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports that he monitored practice from a side field. In any case, Judkins' activity level during spring figures to be largely limited to rehab work as he recovers from surgery undergone in late December to address a dislocated right ankle. Ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, Judkins projects as the leader of a backfield that also houses Dylan Sampson, Raheim Sanders and Ahmani Marshall, all of whom are second-year pros.

Most were surprised when the Browns selected Judkins 36th overall in the 2025 draft, but it's easy to make the case he was worth the pick. At 6 feet, 221 pounds, Judkins has almost the exact same frame as 22nd overall pick Omarion Hampton, whose 4.46 40 was just a hair better than Judkins' 4.48. Before running that 40, Judkins was mostly thought of as a power specialist, in part because his career average of 5.1 yards per carry was dragged down by a lot of short-yardage work. He scored 45 rushing touchdowns in 42 games at Ole Miss and Ohio State, often taking the highest-difficulty carries while smaller backs (like fellow second-round pick TreVeyon Henderson) got the YPC-boosting looks. When a defense needed a crucial stop, Judkins was the last person they wanted to see on the field. His preparation for the 2025 was stalled due to a legal case (since resolved) and the lack of a contract. Judkins eventually signed in the days leading up to Week 1, but the Browns will receive a two-week roster exemption, indicating the won't play the first games. Once ready to go, Judkins could become the lead back, although Jerome Ford remains the favorite for passing-down snaps. Fourth-round pick and fellow rookie Dylan Sampson is a solid prospect in his own right, and he'll likely start off as the No. 2 back behind Ford until Judkins is ready.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Should be back for training camp
Judkins is facing a 4-5 month recovery timeline after suffering multiple leg injuries in Sunday's loss to the Bills, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
ANALYSIS
That estimate would have the running back fully recovered in time for training camp in 2026. Judkins looked very good at times for the Browns this season, finishing his rookie season with 827 rushing yards and seven touchdowns over 14 games, albeit with a mediocre 3.6 yards per carry. Assuming he fully recovers from surgery to repair a dislocated ankle and fractured fibula, Judkins should be locked into the top spot in the Cleveland backfield next year.
