Recommended Pickup

Yan Gomes, C, CLE - Since receiving a day off on June 16, Gomes has reached base in 12 of 14 outings, batting a superb .327 (17-for-52) with three home runs, nine RBI, and eight runs scored. Unfortunately, he hasn't ditched his free-swinging ways, whiffing 15 times during that span, which is a shade above his 26.1 percent strikeout rate on the season. On Monday, though, he should benefit from Shane Greene's major league debut for the Yankees. Despite owning a 7.71 K/9 at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the right-hander has regularly put runners on base en route to a 4.61 ERA and 1.583 WHIP in 66.1 innings. The convergence of events should compel one to wager on Gomes' $6,427 sticker price on DraftStreet.com.
