2026 Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
The follow-up to Westburg's first All-Star season was derailed early on by a hamstring injury which cost him more than six weeks. He would go on to miss a month in the second half with a right ankle sprain. Around his trips to the injured list, Westburg slashed .265/.313/.457, numbers largely similar to the prior season. Surprisingly, he posted a lower HR/FB at home in 2025 after the changes to the left-field wall in Baltimore, though those changes figure to benefit the right-handed slugger in the long run. Now entering his age-27 campaign, Westburg has lost dual eligibility in leagues with a 20-game requirement, finishing with 17 appearances at second base last season compared to 52 at the hot corner. His outlook for 2026 took a major hit in February when he was diagnosed with a partially torn UCL in his right elbow, which will keep Westburg out until at least May. Read Past Outlooks
Out through April with UCL tear
Westburg will be sidelined at least through the end of April due to a partially torn UCL in his right elbow, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis
Westburg will not undergo surgery and will instead treat the injury with a platelet-rich plasma injection and rest. When he does return, he could do so as a designated hitter initially. Westburg entered Orioles camp with an oblique strain, but that injury should heal long before the elbow issue. While the infielder is shelved, the Orioles could turn to Coby Mayo or Blaze Alexander to cover third base. Alexander is also in the mix for reps at second base in place of the injured Jackson Holliday (hand).

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
2023
Westburg had a solid sophomore campaign in the Charm City despite Lord Walltimore stealing some homers from him. Westburg, in fact, loved hitting at home where he hit .303 with half of his homers there compared to a .228 average on the road. Westburg was at his best at home against righties, which is the exact opposite of what we would expect from a righty hitter in Baltimore, but the numbers back it up. His percentile rankings are heavily red despite both his bat speed and chase rate being near the bottom third of the league, and his swing and miss rate and walk rate were in the bottom 20th percentile. Westburg suffered a broken hand after being hit by a pitch on July 31, which nearly cost him the rest of the season. Westburg made it back in spirit with a week left in the season, but went 5 for 32 with one extra base hit when factoring in the two games of the postseason. Westburg should be 100 percent this spring and should hit near the top of the lineup as he looks to build upon his successful 2024 campaign while remaining dual eligible at second and third on draft day.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
New stance paying off
Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports that Westburg made adjustments to his batting stance during the offseason and has delivered strong results early in 2024 with a .305/.359/.537 slash line through 27 games.
Analysis
The 25-year-old eliminated most of his pre-pitch bat movement and also has less of a crouch, and he named teammate Gunnar Henderson's stance as inspiration for the new approach. Westburg has split his playing time between second and third base this season, but he's currently seeing most of his time at the keystone after top prospect Jackson Holliday was sent back to Triple-A.
