2025 Fantasy Outlook
Parsons entered training camp patiently waiting for Jerry Jones to finally sit down and hammer out a massive contract extension, but there's some question that he'll be on the field Week 1 considering he has yet to practice and the two sides haven't made inroads on negotiations. The 26-year-old is arguably the most dangerous quarterback hunter in the league, recording at least 12.0 sacks in all four of his NFL seasons. Parsons will face a bit of a headwind from his new scheme, as defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus hasn't generally overseen dominant pass rushes, but Parsons' elite athleticism and talent are more than enough for him to make an impact in any defense. Expected recovery of nine months
Parsons underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee Monday and is facing a ninth-month recovery period, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Rapoport relays that Parsons sustained a clear tear of the ACL in his left knee and that there was no other ligament damage, which will help with the All-Pro pass rusher's time to recovery. The timeline means Parsons likely will miss the opening portion of next season and is a candidate to start it on injured reserve. He sustained the injury Week 15 against the Broncos and finished his first regular season with the Packers with 41 tackles (19 solo), including 12.5 sacks, one pass defense and two forced fumbles across 14 games.

Parsons set a new career high with 14.0 sacks last year, but he's been arguably the most consistent pass rusher in the NFL since being drafted 12th overall in 2021, producing 13.0 sacks as a rookie and 13.5 in 2022. Former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn lined him up all over the field looking for mismatches, but it's not yet clear how new DC Mike Zimmer plans to deploy Parsons, or whether the scheme change will have an impact on his numbers. The 25-year-old edge rusher's elite athleticism should allow him to thrive no matter how he's used, however.
