Thursday could be one of the most exciting days on the 2026 tennis calendar, as all four men's singles quarterfinals and all four women's singles quarterfinals are scheduled to be played on the same day from the hard courts of Indian Wells, California. A pair of promising young men's players have picked up impressive wins here but still seem undervalued after recently recovering from injuries, while a surging qualifier in the women's draw looks to pick up a fourth consecutive upset against a top-20 seed.

Indian Wells Open Tennis Picks: Upset Alert
Talia Gibson (+260) vs. Linda Noskova
Gibson has earned her spot in the quarterfinals the hard way. The 112th-ranked Australian has won six matches to get here, starting with a pair of victories in qualifying. Her last threee wins have all come against top-17 seeds (Ekaterina Alexandrova, Clara Tauson and Jasmine Paolini), as the 21-year-old Gibson is enjoying a breakout tournament. She'll try to notch a fourth consecutive top-17 win against the 14th-seeded Noskova, who is also only 21 years old. Prior to winning three matches at this tournament, Noskova was just 5-4 in 2026, with three of the losses coming against players ranked outside the top 30. All the pressure will be on Noskova as she seeks her second career WTA 1000 semifinal appearance while Gibson looks to avoid having the clock strike midnight on her Cinderella story.

Indian Wells Open Tennis Odds: Lock It In
Iga Swiatek (-303) vs. Elina Svitolina
Swiatek is coming off a dominant 6-2, 6-0 win over Karolina Muchova, who was 14-2 in 2026 prior to that loss, so Svitolina's 18-3 record this year won't intimidate the world No. 2. Iga's seeking a fifth consecutive semifinal appearance at Indian Wells, and she won this event twice in the previous four years, as the gritty hard courts here get about as close as hard courts can to the queen of clay's favorite surface. Svitolina is rock-solid but usually comes up short against the cream of the crop on the WTA Tour. Swiatek leads their head-to-head 4-1, with all four victories coming in straight sets, including three wins for Iga since Svitolina's three-set win in 2023, which came in much faster conditions on the grass at Wimbledon.
Jannik Sinner (-1420) vs. Learner Tien
This will be the second meeting between Sinner and Tien, as Sinner faces an up-and-coming next-gen opponent for the second consecutive match. The second-ranked Italian was pushed to the limit in both sets by 19-year-old Brazilian Joao Fonseca but walked away with a straight-sets win, 7-6 (8), 7-6 (4). Fonseca's power allowed him to go toe to toe with Sinner and put on a show, but Tien found much less success in his first meeting with Sinner, falling 6-2, 6-2 on hard court last year. Tien has improved this year, but Sinner's pace of ball may continue to overwhelm the 20-year-old Californian, much to the local crowd's chagrin. Until Tien shows he can hang in there with Sinner, it's hard to expect much in this matchup, as Sinner has generally been unbothered over the last few years by players without the ability to consistently inject major pace to knock him off balance.

Carlos Alcaraz (-2100) vs. Cameron Norrie
Indian Wells Open Tennis Predictions: Value Bets
Jack Draper (+146) vs. Daniil Medvedev
This match looks like a pure toss-up on paper, making Draper an appealing value bet as the underdog. Draper has won nine consecutive matches at Indian Wells, and the defending champion will have gained plenty of confidence in his form since returning from an arm injury thanks to Wednesday night's spectacular 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5) win over Novak Djokovic. Things got hairy down the stretch as Draper dealt with nerves and was unable to serve it out at 5-4 in the third set, but that wouldn't be an issue here unless Draper gets to victory's doorstep, which would be a good problem to have. Medvedev is a match away from reaching the semifinals here for a fourth consecutive year, so he has figured out how to excel on the slower hard courts at Indian Wells after struggling in these conditions earlier in his career. He's 16-3 in 2026, but the 11th-ranked Russian still doesn't feel nearly as dominant on hard courts as he was from 2021 through 2024, and just one of his wins this year has come against a top-20 opponent. Draper's No. 14 ranking undersells his ability, as the 24-year-old Brit climbed as high as No. 4 in June prior to his multi-month absence due to injury.
Arthur Fils (+146) vs. Alexander Zverev
These two have given us some entertaining matches over the past couple years as the 21-year-old Fils has begun to establish himself as a contender in later rounds of tournaments. Zverev leads their head-to-head 4-2, but Fils won their only previous outdoor hard-court encounter, and they have split their last four meetings. Like Draper, Fils missed a chunk of 2025 and this year's Australian Open due to an injury. In the Frenchman's case, it was a back injury that sidelined him, dropping his ranking to its current No. 32 spot from a high of 14th in April. After needing a couple tournaments to shake off the rust, Fils has gone 8-1 in his last nine matches, with three straight-set wins over opponents ranked in the top 22 during that stretch and his lone loss coming against Alcaraz. Fils is searching for a second consecutive top-10 win after knocking off No. 9 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime, 6-3, 7-6 (9) in the previous round, which gave the talented Frenchman some much-needed in-match reps at reading a big server ahead of this showdown with Zverev.
