2026 Fantasy Outlook
Skattebo was one of the most pleasant surprises early in the 2025 season, coming in as a fourth-round pick out of Arizona State and quickly taking over the Giants backfield. He established himself as one of the league's top fantasy workhorses by the end of September, showing off memorable power and high-level receiving production. It was one of the most sickening moments of recent seasons, then, when Skattebo suffered a gruesome dislocated ankle in Week 8, right after he logged six straight games with double-digit fantasy points in 0.5 PPR scoring. If he can return 100 percent healthy from the ankle injury, there's no obvious reason why he wouldn't pick up where he left off. Skattebo's elusiveness and pass-catching ability make him a three-down fit for any offense, and the Giants offense should continue to improve as QB Jaxson Dart develops. The addition of 10th overall pick Francis Mauigoa might be just what the Giants' offensive line needs to reach the next level, and either way, the Giants will likely call a run-first offense with John Harbaugh in charge. Even if fellow running back Tyrone Tracy also has a role, a fully healthy Skattebo would likely remain the Giants' workhorse. Read Past Outlooks

Attending voluntary workouts
Skattebo (ankle) is present for the start of voluntary workouts Tuesday, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
New Giants coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that Skattebo (ankle) is ahead of Malik Nabers (knee) in his rehab, but both players are present for the start of voluntary workouts. Per Harbaugh, it is possible Skattebo will resume handling on-field activities this spring. The 2025 fourth-round pick attended Arizona State's Pro Day in late March and was spotted jogging and running without any apparent issues. He suffered a dislocated right ankle in late October and appears to be on track for the start of OTAs.

Running backs with 4.7 speed rarely receive starting consideration in the NFL – most of them have been moved to fullback by then – but Skattebo (5-foot-10, 219 pounds) could prove an exceptional case. He was outrageously productive at Arizona State and Sacramento State, leading the Giants to select him with the third pick in the fourth round of the 2025 Draft (105th overall). If Skattebo can make it in the NFL, it would likely be due to his extremely powerful running in traffic and standout short-area explosiveness. As bad as his 40 time is, Skattebo plays a tick faster thanks to his instant, almost infallible processing and powerful burst (39.5-inch vertical, 123-inch broad jump). In other words, Skattebo can't run away from anyone but might be able to dice up defenses with chunk gains. He runs with rare hostility and instantly lowers his center of gravity to absorb contact with impressive leverage, making it difficult for defenses to trap him once he gets to the second level. Tyrone Tracy was a promising pick for the Giants in 2024 and could remain their starter, but Skattebo is the much more powerful and volume-capable player of the two. With workhorse potential and standout pass-catching ability, Skattebo has big-time fantasy upside despite his 4.7 40 and the presence of Tracy.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Getting FB reinforcements
The addition of fullback Patrick Ricard should help bolster the Giants' rushing attack next season with Skattebo positioned as the feature back, Bucky Brooks of NFL.com believes.
ANALYSIS
Ricard will call New York his new home in 2026 after spending the first nine years of his NFL career with the Ravens, during which he was named to the AFC Pro Bowl roster six times. He recently served as Baltimore's lead blocker for Derrick Henry, the latter of whom rushed for over 1,500 yards in each of the last two seasons. Skattebo is progressing in his recovery from a dislocated right ankle that he suffered in October and is aiming to be a full participant in OTAs. Brooks thinks that the backfield duo of Ricard and Skattebo will make the Giants one of the most formidable rushing attacks in the NFL next season.
