Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

This article is part of our Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer series.

Mondogoal is back for Gameweek 14, which features a six-match main slate Saturday. Several of this week's matches are expected to be quite competitive on paper, giving added fantasy appeal to options all across the price spectrum. Here are some names to consider when filling out lineups for what could be a fascinating collection of contests:

GOALKEEPER

Hugo Lloris, TOT v. SWA (£6.7m): Lloris' price has fallen after a recent dip in form, but he should have an excellent chance to bounce back this week. Spurs are expected to have a full-strength defensive unit after shuffling the lineup in recent matches and will play host to 19th-place Swansea, whose propensity for shooting from distance has made them a favorable matchup for goalkeepers from a fantasy perspective.

Lee Grant, STK v. BUR (£7.1m): Grant has been at the heart of Stoke's turnaround with just five goals allowed in his last eight appearances after last week's clean sheet against Watford. Burnley rank dead last in the Premier League with a single away goal in five matches and will present Grant with an excellent opportunity to continue his emergence as a top option at goalkeeper.

DEFENDER

Carl Jenkinson, ARS at WHU (£5.5m): Jenkinson carries an extremely light price and will likely step into a fullback spot along the strong Gunners back line after Mathieu Debuchy was injured during last week's match. Jenkinson scored 6.32 fantasy points in his only Premier League appearance this season and carries upside because of his well-rounded style of play.

Ryan Bertrand, SOU at CRY (£8.2m): Bertrand has posted eight crosses, seven interceptions and four tackles en route to 16.88 fantasy points over his last two games combined. The Saints will face a struggling Crystal Palace side on Saturday, which could allow Bertrand more opportunities to get forward and adding to his enticing upside for this matchup.

Danny Rose, TOT v. SWA (£9.1m): Rose missed last week's match due to yellow card accumulation but will return this as the third-ranked defender in fantasy points per game for this slate at 7.19. Swansea occupy 19th place in the table and have been susceptible to wide players this season, making Rose a strong bet to resume his excellent season after the brief absence.

MIDFIELDER

Nacer Chadli, WBA v. WAT (£7.2m): Chadli returned from a month-long absence last week against Hull and should rejoin the starting lineup as the Baggies host Watford on Saturday. He ranks third among midfielders on Saturday's slate with an average of 9.03 fantasy points per game and should have plenty of opportunities to return value against the 14th-ranked Hornets defense.

Xherdan Shaqiri, STK v. BUR (£8.4m): Shaqiri has played two matches since returning from a three-week injury absence, averaging 11.25 fantasy points per game as he searches for his pre-injury form, which was his best of the season. Saturday's opponent, Burnley, have conceded 13 goals in just five away matches this season and should present Shaqiri with a promising opportunity to get back on track.

Riyad Mahrez, LEI at SUN (£11.7m): Mahrez has scored in three consecutive matches in all competitions heading into Saturday's matchup with last-place Sunderland. He has scored double-digit fantasy points in each of those games and could be among this round's top producers if he is able to continue his recent form and exploit this favorable matchup.

FORWARD

Salomon Rondon, WBA v. WAT (£6.4m): Just one week removed from a goal and an assist in the victory over Burnley, Rondon will look to exploit an inviting matchup with Watford. The Hornets rank 14th in the league in goals allowed and yielded six in their previous away match, making Rondon an enticing option when considering his low price.

Charlie Austin, SOU at CRY (£8.6m): Austin scored in a Man of the Match performance against Everton last week, giving him four goals in his last six league appearances. Crystal Palace have been in a tailspin and have allowed 18 goals during their current six-match losing streak, putting Austin among the favorites to find the back of the net this weekend.

Harry Kane, TOT v. SWA (£12.1m): Kane was held off the scoresheet last weekend at Chelsea, snapping a streak of four consecutive league matches with a goal. He is a prime bounce-back candidate this weekend against a Swansea side that rank 19th in the Premiership in goals allowed and were breached four times by Crystal Palace last weekend.
