Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Tip Sheet

This article is part of our Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer series.

Mondogoal's Saturday slate in Gameweek 10 featured a myriad of results, as three clubs netted four goals apiece in convincing away victories, five clean sheets were kept and just two home sides secured all three points. The opening day of Gameweek 11 features only five matches that could seemingly yield some more predictable results, presenting FPL owners with plenty of worthy options when constructing lineups.

GOALKEEPER

Artur Boruc, v. (£5.1m): After his clean sheet last week versus Tottenham, Boruc has three wins and a draw in his last four home matches and has yielded just one goal during that stretch. Sunderland currently sit at the foot of the Premier League table and have mustered just two away goals from five matches this season, making Boruc an outstanding value option as he looks to continue his fine home form.

Claudio Bravo, v. (£6.8m): Bravo has allowed just two goals through four home matches since joining the Citizens and will draw a matchup against a Middlesbrough side that have scored just one away goal against top-half clubs this season. The Etihad will be buzzing after a convincing Champions League win over Barcelona in midweek and Bravo should be among the strongest bets for a victory and clean sheet.

DEFENDER

Scott Dann, at (£6.5m): Dann finally made his return from a hamstring injury last weekend and seems poised to produce against low-scoring Burnley with some match action under his belt. He is averaging a reliable 7.51 fantasy points per game this season and remains one of the top threats from set pieces in the Premier League, adding attacking upside into the mix.

Marcos Alonso, v. (£8.6m): Alonso has thrived since establishing himself as a regular in the lineup and has averaged 8.13 fantasy points per game over his last four starts. While the matchup with Everton is not ideal at first glance, the Toffees have managed just two goals in their last three away matches, adding some defensive stability to Alonso's attack-minded style that has made him a popular name among fantasy managers.

Adam Smith, v. (£9.1m): Smith has been among the top fantasy producers at home this season with an average of 10.33 fantasy points per game at the Vitality Stadium. Sunderland are in the midst of another dreadful campaign and have failed to find the back of the net in any of their last three away matches, making Smith a strong candidate to come through with another solid outing.

MIDFIELDER

James McArthur, at (£5.4m): Not typically known for his attacking exploits, McArthur has already tied his career-high with four goals through just eight league appearances this season. The 29-year-old is operating in an advanced role for the first time in his career and could continue his newfound success against Burnley this weekend, making him an excellent value at his current price.

Joe Allen, at (£8.6m): Allen's breakout campaign continued last week with a pair of assists in a win over Swansea, bringing his average to a stellar 14.62 fantasy points per game over his last six. The Welshman continues to thrive in his attacking role and could be asked to take on even more responsibility this weekend, as teammate Marko Arnautovic will be suspended as the Potters travel to faced West Ham and their 18th-ranked defensive unit.

Eden Hazard, v. (£16.9m): Hazard factored in both goals during the Blues' 2-0 triumph over Southampton last week, giving him three goals and an assist over his last three league matches. He can produce like few other Premier League players can when he is in top form, and his average of 18.05 fantasy points per game over his last three indicates that he is in a good way at the moment. Hazard's recent surge has come against strong competition, so potential owners should not be entirely scared off by the matchup with Everton, despite his elevated price.

FORWARD

Callum Wilson, v. (£6.0m): Wilson is Bournemouth's joint-top scorer this season and recently made the short list for PFA Fans' Player of the Month award after a string of strong performances. The Cherries will play host to a Sunderland side that are conceding an average of two goals per game this season, presenting Wilson with the opportunity to produce fantasy totals worthy of a much higher price.

Christian Benteke, at (£7.6m): Benteke has enjoyed something of a revival after changing clubs this summer and has scored three goals in four away matches with the Eagles. After a string of difficult matchups, Benteke will look to break out against 14th-place Burnley, and he should have every opportunity to do so as the focal point of an attack that is facilitated by a skilled midfield.

Sergio Aguero, v. (£11.2m): Aguero ended a six-match goalless drought with a brace against West Brom last week and followed that effort up with an assist in Tuesday's impressive victory over Barcelona in the Champions League. He has been the most prolific home goal scorer in the Premiership since his arrival in England, and he should have his way with Middlesbrough's back line Saturday as the Citizens look to remain atop the standings.
