Fantasy Premier League Rankings: Gameweek 5

Projecting lineups after an international break is always tricky, as teams don't always disclose when players return or how quickly they might be able to recover from knocks they suffered while they were away. With that being said, we'll do our best throughout the week to adjust as news comes in, and these rankings will change when that happens.

I am including the team projections below to give an idea of why certain players may be higher than others due to their goal odds, as you may wonder why a guy like Rhian Brewster might be ranked higher than Michail Antonio this week (the easy answer is that Sheffield United are projected to score more goals against Fulham than West Ham against Tottenham).

After the team projections are set, the goals are then distributed to each of the 11 starters. For example, if Arsenal and Southampton are each projected for 2.0 goals, Arsenal's goal distribution is likely to be split among Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Willian and some midfielders, while Southampton will mostly be Danny Ings and then everyone else. So, Ings may actually rank higher overall than the Arsenal guys even though we may think of them as better.
