PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

GOALKEEPER

Kasper Schmeichel, LEI v. SOT: The big Dane has been bothered by a couple small knocks this season, missing matches against Burnley and Manchester United. After conceding four goals against Liverpool in early September, Schmeichel has recorded five saves while also keeping clean sheets in back-to-back Champions League matches. While David de Gea's matchup with Stoke City may be a safer play, playing Schmeichel will be more frugal in a position that has a lower ceiling. This would allow you to place your salary into more attacking options.

Ben Davies, TOT v. MCI: Tottenham has endured injuries to a couple of key players of late, with Harry Kane out indefinitely due to ligament damage in his ankle, as well as hamstring injuries for Eric Dier and Danny Rose. The latter's injury has allowed Davies to gain unexpected playing time at left-back. The Welshman has made three starts in place of Rose and could be in line for his fourth with Rose facing a late fitness test ahead of Tottenham's clash with first place, Manchester City. Davies' friendly price and place in what could be a goal-scoring affair justify his inclusion.

Daley Blind, MUN v. STK: After a virtuoso display last weekend against Leicester City, Blind faces a Stoke City side that has scored only three goals in four games, while also conceding 11. I would be remiss if I didn't include one player from United in the cheat sheet. United's favorable matchup against Stoke City should allow for Blind to get higher up the pitch and get involved in the attack.

Kyle Walker, TOT v. MCI: Walker's strong showing in the European Championship has continued into this season. As a defender, Walker fills the stat sheet with interceptions, tackles and crosses. Manchester City's attack should keep Walker busy all day, and if they can keep the Citizens at bay, Walker could be in for a healthy point total.

MIDFIELDER

Alexis Sanchez, ARS at BUR: Alexis has been the most consistent performer for Arsenal this season, notching five goals and four assists. Arsenal have managed nine goals in their past three games, with Alexis playing a part in six, scoring three and assisting on the others. His production continues to prove his worth despite the high price.

Raheem Sterling, MCI at STK: No, there are not forest fires setting the earth ablaze; it's just Sterling setting fire to every pitch he's touched since August. He is in arguably the best form of his young career, all while permanently locking down a spot in Pep Guardiola's team sheet. It's hard to argue with the young Englishman's production, as he has five goals and five assists in nine appearances to start the season.

Xherdan Shaqiri, STK at MUN: After missing the first six games of the season, Shaqiri made his return to Stoke City's lineup last weekend, managing four shots, and 13 crosses. With Shaqiri now healthy, manager Mark Hughes' dreams of an attacking trident of Wilfried Bony, Marko Arnautovic and Shaqiri have come true. His role as designated free-kick taker was a contributing factor to his 13 crosses last time out, and his role on corners gives him a solid floor despite the opponent.

FORWARD

Charlie Austin, SOT at LEI: Despite Austin's rumored knee issues, he's become Southampton's go-to guy in the past two weeks, sacking four goals in three matches in all competitions. Southampton will be out to avenge last season's performances against Leicester last season, as they gave up a two-goal lead to tie and were shutout 1-0. Austin could factor in the revenge if he's able to replicate his form from the past three matches, and his mid-range price leaves him as a sneaky play.

Heung-Min Son, TOT v. MCI: Son has been the main beneficiary of Harry Kane's injury, scoring four goals and picking up an assist in his last four games, including the match-winning goal during Tottenham's midweek Champions League game with CSKA Moscow. Son's inexpensive price and eligibility as a midfielder and forward make him a very attractive fantasy option.

Islam Slimani, LEI v. SOT: All of us who watched Leicester's incredible title-winning run last season became accustomed to watching Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy create and score many goals. After sinking their hard earned title money into a new strike option, it looks like Slimani is worth the £30 million price tag. Three goals in three matches means that Leicester will not have to rely solely on Vardy and Mahrez, and Slimani comes as a slightly cheaper price than the other stars.
