2026 Fantasy Outlook
It's been an eventful two years in the NFL for Coleman, who was just 20 years old when the Bills took him 33rd overall in the 2024 Draft. He had and up-and-down rookie year, catching just 29 passes but averaging 19.2 yards per catch. It was enough to spark hope for a Year 2 breakout, which then appeared underway when Coleman exploded for 8-112-1 against Baltimore in Week 1. As it turns out, he never reached even 50 yards in a game for the rest of the season, instead generating headlines for things like missing team meetings and getting benched. There's never been a hint of major off-field issues like legal problems, but Coleman's maturity and dedication have been topics of frequent discussion in Western New York. While many expected a trade this offseason, Bills GM Brandon Beane said in April that he's ready to "hit the reset button" and thinks Coleman's best year is "yet to come." The Bills could still use receiving help alongside reliable slot man Khalil Shakir, as they're otherwise relying on 29-year-old DJ Moore and fourth-round rookie Skyler Bell to provide upgrades to a weak WR group. There's still a window for Coleman to get his act together and figure out how to best put his 6-foot-4, 215-pound frame to work. Read Past Outlooks

Has Joe Brady's support
Bills head coach Joe Brady said Tuesday that he advocated for Coleman this offseason and expects him to "be a part of our offense" in 2026, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
ANALYSIS
"I made sure when I got the job, [Coleman] knew he was going to be here and be a part of our offense," said Brady. It's safe to assume Coleman's presence in Buffalo wasn't a sticking point in negotiations when Brady was promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach. Coleman turned 23 on May 17, making him younger than many rookies in the incoming class, but he frankly hasn't shown much on the field to hint at living up to his draft capital (33rd overall in 2024). Bills GM Brandon Beane said in April that he refuted trade offers and now wants to "hit the reset button" on Coleman, who notoriously had a rocky relationship with former head coach Sean McDermott. While Brady called plays for most of those games in which Coleman failed to make an impact, Brady sounds open to letting the 23-year-old compete for a top-three job at wide receiver again. If not Coleman, the Bills have fourth-round pick Skyler Bell and sixth-year pro Joshua Palmer (ankle) as the top candidates for WR snaps behind newcomer DJ Moore and slot specialist Khalil Shakir.

Coleman was a polarizing prospect who went 33rd overall to Buffalo last April and then had a rookie season that ensures he'll remain polarizing. Despite running a 4.61 40-yard dash, Coleman was mostly used as a deep threat, a la Gabe Davis before him, averaging 19.2 yards per reception while catching 50.9 percent of his targets at a 15.2 aDOT (third deepest among WRs with 300-plus routes). He then caught just three of eight targets for 22 yards in three playoff games, although he topped 50 percent snap share each time, notably working ahead of Amari Cooper. The Bills aren't bringing Cooper back, but they did sign Joshua Palmer, whose 14.9 aDOT for the Chargers last season ranked fifth among WRs. Offensive coordinator Joe Brady might use Palmer as the deep threat to open up Coleman for a more varied, fantasy-friendly role, but it's also possible Coleman ends up battling just to stay on the field, considering the Bills use a lot of heavy formations and also have Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel at wide receiver.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Worth only fifth-round pick?
Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com suggests a hypothetical trade of Coleman would fetch the Bills only a 2027 fifth-round pick.
ANALYSIS
In an overview by multiple ESPN analysts of potential trade scenarios involving Coleman, Fowler selects the Ravens as the hypothetical landing spot due to the team's thin receiver depth. Fowler makes the argument that Coleman's considerable catch radius would make him a very good fit with Lamar Jackson and his improvisational style, and he adds moving the 2024 second-round pick would enable the Bills to develop rookie fourth-round selection Skyler Bell at a more accelerated rate.
