2026 Fantasy Outlook
Wilson's 2025 campaign looked a lot like his three previous NFL campaigns until he sprained and hyperextended his knee in October. He came back from the injury in Week 10, but lasted just 19 snaps before missing the rest of the season. Prior to the injury, Wilson averaged 6.0 catches for 65.8 yards on 9.3 targets, mimicking his per-game numbers from 2024 (5.9 catches for 64.9 yards). It was the same old story of big-time volume and subpar efficiency, with Wilson trying to carry an otherwise lifeless passing game. The Jets at least showed progress along the O-line last year, and they made overhauled the rest of the offense this offseason, starting with a new coordinator (Frank Reich) and quarterback (Geno Smith). That's not exactly an exciting duo, but it's at least something new, and the Jets made it more interesting when they drafted TE Kenyon Sadiq (16th overall) and WR Omar Cooper (30th). Wilson may now have more target competition, but that could also mean playing in a decent offense rather than relying purely on volume. Read Past Outlooks

Praises new OC's system
Wilson has praised new offensive coordinator Frank Reich's system during OTAs, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
"This is probably one of the offenses that I'm going to look back on in a few years and love the most," Wilson said Thursday, adding that he appreciates the empowering nature of Reich's approach, which leaves more decisions in receivers' hands during plays. Wilson overcame subpar coaching and quarterback play to exceed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first three NFL seasons, but the 2022 first-round pick had just 395 receiving yards in 2025 while missing 10 games due to a knee injury, from which Wilson has since recovered.

Each of Wilson's three NFL seasons has followed the same pattern, with massive volume and lousy per-target efficiency balancing out to leave him just north of 1,000 receiving yards. He scored seven TDs last season after having seven in his first two years combined, but that was about the only benefit of playing with Aaron Rodgers, who had a career-low 90.5 passer rating and favored Davante Adams over Wilson down the stretch. Wilson hasn't missed a game since entering the league, and he's stronger than you'd expect for a 6-foot, 183-pound wide receiver, with suddenness and acceleration that jump off the screen beyond even what his 4.38 40 time suggests. The biggest concern, yet again, is that he's unlikely to have good QB play, although college teammate Justin Fields -- the Jets' probable Week 1 starter -- did spark a career year for Bears WR D.J. Moore in 2023. The problem with Fields is that even if he throws the ball reasonably well, his proclivities for scrambles and sacks all but assure his team ranks near the bottom of the league in pass attempts. And while Wilson will see a huge portion of those passes, his target competition is weak to the point where it might not even be beneficial for fantasy, allowing secondaries to key on him without worrying about anyone else. In other words, we're likely looking at another season with plenty of volume and subpar efficiency, unless Fields and new offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand somehow are good enough to overcome a supporting cast that's flat-out lousy beyond Wilson and RB Breece Hall.

ANALYSIS
The Jets got some of the worst quarterback play in the NFL from a combination of Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor and Brady Cook in 2025. Wilson was limited to seven appearances by a season-ending knee injury and averaged a career-low 56.4 receiving yards in 2025 after recording at least 1,042 receiving yards in each of his first three NFL seasons. The 2022 first-round pick is set to operate as the top target for Smith, who has averaged 3,813 passing yards over the past four regular seasons.
