Team Volume: 45 DBs, 40 att. (28-308-3)

  • Claypool had an interesting night. He was briefly benched after a penalty in the first quarter, and later made up for his otherwise slow night with four catches for 62 yards on the final drive. The only problem? He did a celebratory first-down point after the last of those catches, and came under fire after it cost the Steelers a handful of seconds (which wasn't really his fault, but it was still a dumb play and bad look).
  • No. 2 TE Zach Gentry got 36% of snaps but no targets.
  • McCloud had a season high for snap share and his second-most targets but finished with only 6-32-0 receiving.
  • Freiermuth's receiving volume has dropped off with only 11 targets over the past three games despite playing 73-76% of snaps in each contest.
    • Fortunately, he's caught nine of the 11 for 98 yards and two TDs, plus a two-point conversion.

Team Volume: 31 DBs, 31 att. (14-216-2)

  • Osborn replaced Adam Thielen (ankle) as the No. 2 receiver and tied his season high for targets (nine, from Week 1) en route to 3-83-1 receiving.
    • Osborn scored a 62-yard TD on a deep ball with about 11 minutes remaining in the game.
  • Jefferson saw nearly half the team's targets and finished with a solid fantasy line (7-79-1), but he also dropped a pass and wasn't able to make a couple tough plays in the end zone. We'll give him a break given what he did the week before.
  • Conklin played only 43% of snaps in the first quarter but then 74-79% in each subsequent quarter. He still ran a route on more than 74% of Kirk Cousins' dropbacks but was targeted just twice even with Thielen out.

  • Vannett led the team in targets, and now has six catches for 92 yards on 10 targets over the past two games, playing 60% and 73% of snaps. He's arguably doing more with the role than Adam Trautman (IR/knee) despite being stuck with Taysom Hill at QB.
  • Still was the No. 3 receiver with Deonte Harris (suspension) and Lil'Jordan Humphrey (hamstring) out. Both Harris and Humphrey were ahead of Stills before.

    • Pitts got 66% of snaps in the first half but only 40% in the second half with Atlanta nursing a lead (he still led the team in targets and yards after halftime).

  • Anderson had his best game of the season with 7-84-1, and Moore added 6-84-0 on 10 targets, his second game in a row with double digits.
  • Moore has seven or more targets in every game this year, but he'd seen either seven or eight in four straight before getting back to double-digits the past two games. Keep him in lineups, even with Carolina's offense being a disaster.
  • Zylstra is still running ahead of Marshall, the second-round pick.
  • Tremble and Ian Thomas (zero targets) are still in a timeshare at TE.

  • Jones and Moreau were the only guys besides Renfrow above 65% route share, with Edwards and Jackson sharing snaps and combining for only five targets.
  • Moreau came out of the game with a minor ab injury and was listed as a limited participant on Tuesday's practice estimate (the Raiders play on Saturday in Week 15).

    • Pringle was targeted just once on 18 routes but did catch it for a 28-yard gain.
  • This was a rare low-volume game for KC's pass offense, and the TDs went to Pringle and Darrel Williams.

    • Per PFF, Lamb took 45 of his 57 snaps in the slot.
      • He's produced 1.87 yards in the slot this year, compared to 2.21 overall.

  • Bates and Seals-Jones formed a timeshare at TE, suggesting neither will have significant fantasy value down the stretch.
  • Rumors of Samuel's role increasing turned out to be inaccurate.
  • Sims put up 3-69-1 on four targets with a gorgeous TD catch, starting the game as Washington's No. 5 receiver but eventually playing a key role after McLaurin left.
    • Sims got 14% of snaps in the first half and 92% in the second.

  • Lamar Jackson sprained his ankle in the first quarter and missed the rest of the game, but Tyler Huntley actually did a good job keeping the passing game alive, throwing for 270 yards.
  • Brown posted another mediocre line on solid volume. His past four games have been 6-37-0 on 13 targets, 8-51-0 on 10 targets, 5-55-0 on seven targets and 5-41-0 on eight targets.
    • It looks like opponents have been playing more off coverage and daring the Ravens to throw Brown bubble screens and quick slants. He's fast, but he hasn't been all that good at racking up YAC after short receptions... quite possibly because he's one of the smallest players in the league. But the Ravens are definitely giving him those chances.
  • Andrews put up 11-115-1 on 11 targets, pushing his season line to 75-926-6 on 109 targets in 13 games.
  • Bateman got more snaps (64%), had his best game yet (7-103-0) and nearly scored his first NFL TD, but it appears his increased role may have been a product of Sammy Watkins' injury rather than the coaches' intention.
    • Bateman had played only 44% and 45% of snaps in the previous two games, catching four of five targets for 31 yards.
