DFS College Football: Underdog Fantasy Picks for the College Football Playoff Semifinals

Each week throughout the season and into the postseason I share my favorite college player props as part of our DFS College Football series. Through two rounds of the College Football Playoff we're 6-2 (75%) on our picks!

I find my edge with RotoWire's Picks & Props tool. Multiple prediction factors help decide if we should lean "higher" or "lower" on all of the player props available across multiple sportsbooks and DFS sites. I use the tool as a starting point to highlight favorable prop lines that I might otherwise miss and to narrow down my options before doing a deeper dive into trends and matchups.

Below are the best picks you can make on Underdog Fantasy in the CFP this week.

QB Carson Beck, Miami

Beck topped this number in nine of 12 regular season games, so why are we leaning to the under now? He only has a total of 241 passing yards in two playoff wins. Miami is winning with defense and the run game, and though the Hurricanes will probably need to hit an explosive pass play or two to beat Mississippi, they should still have a run-focused attack.

While Ole Miss has been known to get into shootouts, the Rebels have limited opponents to an average of 194 pass yards per game. Only three quarterbacks have topped 225 yards against them this season.

At RotoWire, we're projecting 225 yards for Beck this week, and we're getting some value on the number at Underdog Fantasy, as the line is set as low as 228.5 elsewhere.

CFB Underdog Pick: Carson Beck LOWER than 235.5 pass yards

RB Dierre Hill, Oregon

Oregon has been going with a running back by committee approach with Jordon Davison and Noah Whittington splitting time and Dierre Hill getting a handful of carries each game. Now Davison is out with a broken clavicle, opening the door for more opportunities for Hill to serve as Noah Whittington's backup. However, I'm projecting Oregon to lean more on Whittington, while Hill just picks up a couple extra touches.

Both backs are going to have a tough time finding running room against Indiana's second-ranked run defense. When these teams met earlier this season, Davison led the team with 59 rush yards, while Whittington had 27 yards and Hill finished with -3 yards on three carries.

CFB Underdog Pick: Dierre Hill LOWER than 33.5 rush yards

RB Roman Hemby, Indiana

I faded Hemby last week, and that turned out to be my only losing pick of the week. I learned my lesson and will trust him to get the job done against Oregon this week. Hemby has topped this number in 10 of 14 games this season

The argument against Hemby is that Oregon has been a top 20 run defense this season, allowing 110.8 rush yards per game, and he's splitting carries with Kaelon Black. And those two factors do shake my confidence, but Hemby has delivered all season long, regardless of opponent. He put together a 70-yard, 2 TD game against Oregon earlier this season and topped this number against other top 20 run defenses like Wisconsin and Iowa.

CFB Underdog Pick: Roman Hemby HIGHER than 56.5 rush yards

WR Cayden Lee, Mississippi

Cayden Lee didn't have the big breakout season that college fantasy football drafters like me expected, but he has been a productive real-life player. He has at least 48 receiving yards in eight of his past 12 games. Although he only had 19 yards last week, it's encouraging that he saw seven targets. In fact, he has seen 27 targets in the past five games, making him a solid volume play this week.

Miami has a top five run defense this season, but Ole Miss should be able to find some success through the air. Miami has allowed 201.1 passing yards per game this season.

CFB Underdog Pick: Cayden Lee HIGHER than 29.5 receiving yards
