After a positive test for COVID-19 on the Spurs postponed their matchup with the Pistons on Tuesday, we have six games left on the schedule. As you work your way through the remaining options, here are some players to consider for your DFS entries, as well as a few to possibly avoid.
GUARDS
Damian Lillard, POR at OKC ($47): This will be a matchup between two teams that have been hammered by injuries. Luckily for the Blazers, they still have Lillard. Across 12 games since CJ McCollum (foot) went down, Lillard has averaged 31 points, 3.8 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 4.3 three-pointers. Reinforcements won't be coming for this game, so expect Lillard to once again have an extremely high usage rate.
Donte DiVincenzo, MIL vs. TOR ($15): The Bucks have been forced to play without Jrue Holiday (COVID-19) for each of their last four games and there is still no estimated date for his return. DiVincenzo has been busy during his absence, scoring at least 25.7 Yahoo points three times, including two games with at least 31.6 Yahoo points. At this cheap salary, he could be well worth the risk in tournament play.
Guard to Avoid
Kemba Walker, BOS vs. DEN ($23): Walker is coming off of arguably his best game of the season when he recorded 25 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals Sunday against the Wizards. It's difficult to get too excited, though, given that the Wizards have the sixth-worst defensive rating in the league. Also, Walker is shooting just 36.3 percent from the field for the season. He's still a very risky option.
FORWARDS
LeBron James, LAL at MIN ($48): The Lakers are set to embark on at least the next two weeks without Anthony Davis (calf). Over the last three games that Davis has missed, James scored at least 43.7 Yahoo points each time. He's also been red hot of late, scoring at least 49.5 Yahoo points in six of his last seven contests. Look for him to keep things rolling against a Timberwolves team that has the eighth-worst defensive rating.
Kyle Kuzma, LAL at MIN ($15): James isn't the only player on the Lakers who will have to step up with Davis out. Another one of the main beneficiaries should be Kuzma, who could start until Davis returns. Add in the fact that's scored at least 30 Yahoo points in four of his last six games and he's almost too good to pass up at this salary.
Forward to Avoid
Michael Porter Jr., DEN at BOS ($23): Make no mistake about it, Porter is an extremely talented offensive option. The problem is, he's yet to provide consistent production during the early stages of his career. In fact, he's scored fewer than 10 points in four of his last six games. Even as a starter over the last five games, he's only produced averages of 11.6 points and 5.6 rebounds. Facing a Celtics team that has the ninth-best defensive rating could leave him with another underwhelming stat line.
CENTERS
Nikola Jokic, DEN at BOS ($55): Not much of an argument needs to be made for deploying Jokic in DFS on any given night. He's among the early leaders for the MVP race, averaging 26.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 8.7 assists. Some of his most recent performances include a 50-point game versus the Kings and a triple-double against the Lakers on Sunday. His floor is as high as any player on this slate, regardless of position.
Montrezl Harrell, LAL at MIN ($16): Harrell was one of the main scoring threats on the Clippers last season, but he's seen his role decline since joining the Lakers. However, he logged at least 30 minutes and scored at least 20 points in both of the last two games that Davis missed. He is certainly more than capable of helping fill the void created by Davis' injury after averaging at least 16.6 points in both of the last two seasons, so now might be the time to take advantage of his reasonable salary before it starts to rise.
Center to Avoid
Chris Boucher, TOR at MIL ($25): Just when it looked like Boucher had moved back into a prominent role with the Raptors, he only played 18 minutes in their last game Sunday. The talent is certainly there, and he's recorded some monster stat lines during the early part of the season. However, his playing time can fall off the map any given night, which makes him too risky at this salary.
