After a busy Monday, the NBA quiets down with five games on the schedule Tuesday. There is still plenty of top-tier talent to choose from, though, with the Sixers, Warriors and Jazz among the teams in action. Let's highlight some players across the price scale to target and avoid while creating your Yahoo entry.
GUARDS
Terrence Ross, ORL at NO ($20): The Magic have had a favorable schedule from a DFS perspective lately with each of their last four opponents inside the top-12 in the league in pace of play. Ross has taken advantage of those matchups, averaging 33.1 Yahoo points. The Pelicans play at the sixth-fastest pace (102.9) and allow the fourth-most points per game (114.6), so look for the offensive-minded Ross to thrive once again.
Jaylen Brown, BOS at PHI ($17):Kyrie Irving (knee) won't play Tuesday, leaving a huge hole in the Celtics' offense. While Terry Rozier immediately comes to mind as someone to roster whenever Irving is out, don't overlook Brown. Across the last five games that Irving has been sidelined, Brown has averaged 33.4 Yahoo points. The Celtics are going to need all the offense from him that they can get in this tough matchup on the road against the high-powered Sixers' starting five.
Guard to Avoid
Kent Bazemore, ATL vs. LAL ($12): Bazemore's playing time has started to dwindle, which has resulted in him scoring 18.7 Yahoo points or fewer in seven of his last eight games. The Hawks did free up some playing time when they bought out Jeremy Lin, but Bazemore will still have to compete with Kevin Huerter and DeAndre' Bembry for minutes. Don't expect much from him again in this contest.
FORWARDS
Kyle Kuzma, LAL at ATL ($21): Kuzma is showing signs of turning things around with at least 37 Yahoo points in back-to-back games. He torched the Sixers for 39 points Sunday and has an excellent opportunity to have another offensive explosion against a Hawks team that plays at the fastest pace (104.6). Since he's not overly expensive, either, taking a chance on Kuzma to extend his recent run of success might be a wise move.
Jonathan Isaac, ORL at NO ($21): Considering the up-tempo pace at which the Pelicans play and their defensive struggles, there are several players on the Magic who are appealing options. Isaac stands out as one of the top ones to target, especially since he's scored at least 28.2 Yahoo points in eight straight games. He's started to increase his scoring outputs lately, but it's also helped that he averaged 1.5 steals and 2.5 blocks during those eight contests.
Forward to Avoid
DeMar DeRozan, SA at MEM ($35): This is not a very appealing price for DeRozan considering he's only topped 40 Yahoo points two times across his last 10 games. It's also a rough matchup against the Grizzlies, who allow the second-fewest points per game (103.4). In three previous meeting this season, DeRozan has only averaged 15 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists against the Grizzlies.
CENTERS
Nikola Vucevic, ORL at NO ($42): It's not hard to make a case to roll with Vucevic any given night. Despite only playing 29 minutes in a decisive victory over the Haws on Sunday, Vucevic still scored 39.9 Yahoo points. He's in the midst of a crazy campaign in which he's averaging career-highs in points (20.5), rebounds (12), assists (3.8) and blocks (1.2) while shooting 52 percent from the field. While he's not cheap, his price won't exactly destroy your budget, making him a very appealing option with this matchup.
JaVale McGee, LAL at ATL ($15): Now that Ivica Zubac is no longer with the Lakers, McGee has returned to the starting five. He's been productive, so far, by scoring 28.6 and 43.1 Yahoo points, respectively, in his last two games. It's no coincidence that he logged at least 26 minutes in both contests. The Lakers and the Hawks are in the top-four in pace of play, so the added playing time could really provide McGee with plenty of upside at this price.
Center to Avoid
Jahlil Okafor, NO vs. ORL ($24): After sitting out the last two games, Okafor (ankle) is expected to make his return Tuesday. The problem is that Julius Randle and Anthony Davis will also both play, which should relegate Okafor to a reduced role. His price still reflects the production he was providing when Randle and Davis were out, so make sure to keep him out of your lineup.
