Outside of the contest between the Raptors and Sixers, Tuesday's eight-game slate doesn't have many compelling matchups. However, there's still the opportunity to win some cash on Yahoo. Here are some players to target and avoid while creating your entry.
GUARDS
Terry Rozier, BOS at CLE ($24):Kyrie Irving (hip) has been ruled out Tuesday after missing three of the Celtics' last six games. Considering how poorly the Cavaliers have played, this is likely just an opportunity for Irving to receive some extra rest. He didn't play when these two teams met a couple of weeks ago either. Rozier started in his place and scored 45.6 Yahoo points. Across the three recent games that Irving has missed, Rozier has actually averaged 43.2 Yahoo points. Don't hesitate to add him to your entry.
Jerryd Bayless, MIN at MEM ($18):Derrick Rose (ankle) returned Saturday against the Nuggets, but Bayless still started and scored 31.6 Yahoo points. Rose has now been ruled out for this game, which further complicates things for the Timberwolves with Tyus Jones (ankle) out and Jeff Teague (foot) doubtful. This is a tough matchup against a good Grizzlies' defense, but Bayless scored a whopping 51.4 Yahoo points against them last week. His high minute's floor makes him a great option at this price.
Guard to Avoid
Jordan Clarkson, CLE vs. BOS ($18): The good news concerning Clarkson is that he's averaging a career-high 16.8 points per game. The problem is, that's the majority of his contributions since he provides few defensive stats and it only averaging 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. That has resulted in him scoring 28.6 Yahoo points or fewer in nine of his last 11 games. The Celtics allow the fourth-fewest points per game (105.9) in the league, so buyer beware.
FORWARDS
Paul George, OKC vs. ORL ($50): George is rolling right now with at least 50.1 Yahoo points in nine of his last 10 games. That includes a 59.2 Yahoo-point performance against these same Magic last week. His 29.4 percent usage rate combined with his averages of 7.9 rebounds, four assists and 2.3 steals per contest makes him an extremely appealing option, even at this lofty price.
Jonathan Isaac, ORL at OKC ($20): Isaac has mostly had a disappointing season, but he's starting to turn things around with at least 30.1 Yahoo points in six of his last seven games. Even though his offensive game is still a work in progress, he has the ability to be a nightly double-double threat who chips in plenty of defensive stats. The Thunder play at the third-fastest pace (103.9 possessions per game) in the league, which should afford Isaac with even more opportunities to provide value. When these two teams last met, he scored 31.1 Yahoo points.
Forward to Avoid
Josh Richardson, MIA at POR ($20): Richardson is slumping right now with 27.7 Yahoo points or fewer in six of his last nine games. He's only averaged 14 points per game during that stretch in large part because he has shot just 36.9 percent from the field. Like Clarkson, Richardson doesn't provide much outside of scoring, so he's really risky when his shot isn't falling. This also has the potential to be a low-scoring affair with both the Heat and the Blazers in the bottom half of the league in pace of play.
CENTERS
Nikola Vucevic, ORL at OKC ($42): Few centers have as high of a floor as Vucevic, who has scored at least 40.3 Yahoo points in 10 of his last 11 games. His upside is off the charts, as well, with at least 51.9 Yahoo points in five of his last seven contests. With the Magic likely having to play at a faster pace to keep up with the Thunder, Vucevic should be afforded even more chances to stuff the stat sheet Tuesday. He also thrived when these two teams last met, scoring 53.7 Yahoo points across 34 minutes.
Montrezl Harrell, LAC at CHA ($22): After coming off of the bench for the majority of the season. Harrell was moved into the starting lineup Sunday against the Raptors. That doesn't necessarily mean he will be the starting center moving forward, but Harrell has still provided value regardless of his role. The Hornets have allowed the fourth-most Yahoo points per game (47.4) to opposing centers, so look for Harrell to thrive in this matchup.
Center to Avoid
Ante Zizic, CLE vs. BOS ($18): Don't look now, but Kevin Love (toe) actually appears to be closing in on a return. However, he won't play Tuesday, which will leave the Cavaliers extremely thin up front with Tristan Thompson (foot) and Cedi Osman (ankle) also out. Zizic should have a clear path to playing time, but he's already been playing more lately and has still scored 28.3 Yahoo points or fewer in four of his last five contests. The last time these two teams met, the Celtics held him to 23.6 Yahoo points despite him logging 33 minutes. Since Harrell is not priced all that much higher, he might be the better option to roll with at center if you don't want to pay up for Vucevic.
