Best NBA Bets Today (Friday, February 6)
Bam Adebayo O18.5 PTS at Celtics (-123)
DraftKings Sportsbook, 3:15pm ET
Nick Whalen: The Heat get Norman Powell back tonight, but I still like this as a bounceback spot for Adebayo going up against a Celtics team that will debut Nikola Vucevic at center. Adebayo is coming off of a down performance against the Hawks earlier this week, but despite going 4-of-16 from the field, he still finished with 16 points in 30 minutes. Over his last 13 games, Adebayo is averaging 22.2 points per game on a 26.2% usage rate.
Anthony Edwards O5.5 REB vs. Pelicans (-108)
FanDuel Sportsbook, 3:15pm ET
Nick Whalen: With the Pelicans involved, there may be some blowout potential here, but the Wolves have struggled at home this season (9-12 ATS as a home favorite), and the Pels have enough talent to keep this game within reason. As of publication, Julius Randle is considered questionable, while new addition Ayo Dosunmu is not yet available.
With the Wolves playing at a top-five pace and facing a shaky defense, I like Edwards to approach 30 points, as usual, while taking advantage of a New Orleans team that allows the third-most rebounds in the NBA and ranks 25th in TRB%. Over his last 15 games, Edwards is averaging 30.7 points and 5.7 rebounds.
Myles Turner O21.5 PTS+REB vs. Pacers (-121)
DraftKings 3:00pm ET
Kirien Sprecher: After reaching the NBA Finals with the Pacers a season ago, Turner wanted to return to Indiana and fully expected that to happen. However, due to Tyrese Haliburton's Achilles tear in Game 7 against the Thunder, the Pacers pivoted and didn't get into a bidding war with the Bucks, who made Turner a $100-million man.
He has not lived up to that contract during his first season in Milwaukee, shooting a career-low 43.9 percent from the field while averaging his fewest rebounds per game since his rookie season. But none of that matters Friday night, when Turner will have a chance to show the Pacers what they missed out on.
Indiana got its center of the future in a blockbuster trade with the Clippers, landing Ivica Zubac, but he won't be available Friday, so Turner should have the upper hand on the boards over Jay Huff, Pascal Siakam and Jarace Walker.
