Trio of helpers in win

June 19, 2026
Cowan logged three assists in AHL Toronto's 4-3 win over Chicago in Game 5 of the Calder Cup Finals on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Cowan picked up his third multi-point effort of the Marlies' playoff run at a great time. He helped out on all three of Toronto's goals in the second period, which was enough to secure the Calder Cup. Cowan finished the postseason with eight goals, 10 assists and 44 shots on net over 22 outings. Expect the 21-year-old to spend all of 2026-27 with the Maple Leafs.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
After setting a career high with 96 points across 54 regular-season appearances with OHL London in 2023-24, Cowan wasn’t quite as big of a factor offensively last year, supplying 29 goals and 69 points in 46 regular-season outings with London. However, he stepped up in the postseason with 16 goals and 46 points in 22 games to help the Knights win the Memorial Cup as well as their second consecutive OHL championship. Now 20 years old, Cowan is going to get a long look during the Maple Leafs’ training camp, but it will be tough for him to crack the Opening Night roster. However, even if he fails to start with the Leafs, Cowan’s a great prospect and might be among the first forwards summoned from the AHL in the event of an injury.
