DraftKings MLB: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

PITCHER

Jose Quintana, CHC vs. NYM ($10,900): The Chicago lefty is in position for a monster outing. The Mets have the highest strikeout percentage (26.6) in the league to go with an underwhelming .304 wOBA against lefties since the All Star break. Quintana has been hit or miss since joining the Cubs, but he still sports a 3.79 FIP and 28.1 strikeout percentage through 10 starts. There's a chance he's heavily owned, though.

Sonny Gray, NYY at TB ($9,600): The Rays own the lowest wOBA (.297) and third-highest strikeout percentage (25.3) in the league since the All-Star break, so this should prove to be a soft matchup for Gray. He enters with an impressive 3.49 FIP and 23.1 strikeout percentage for the season, and the 27-year-old righty's salary doesn't break the bank, either.

CATCHER

Yan Gomes, CLE vs. DET ($3,400): The backstop boasts a rock-solid .364 wOBA against southpaws this season and lands in a soft matchup. Matt Boyd has allowed a .373 wOBA and owns a 5.93 ERA for the campaign.

FIRST BASE

Yonder Alonso, SEA at TEX ($3,700): This is a solid matchup at hitter-friendly Globe Life Park in Arlington for Alonso. Miguel Gonzalez has served up a .505 slugging percentage and .358 wOBA to left-handed hitters this season, and Alonso boasts .510 and .375 marks against righties. His salary also provides cap relief.

SECOND BASE

Robinson Cano, SEA at TEX ($4,900): The second baseman stacks well with Yonder Alonso, as Cano also boasts strong numbers against right-handed hurlers. Dating back to last season, Cano has posted a sterling .385 wOBA.

THIRD BASE

Jake Lamb, ARI vs. COL ($4,700): This salary presents value alongside Lamb's .939 OPS and .386 wOBA against right-handed hurlers this season. At first glance, Jon Gray's .332 wOBA allowed to lefty bats this season isn't a strong matchup for Lamb. However, the D-backs just faced Gray last week, and knocked him out of the game after just five innings.

SHORTSTOP

Tim Beckham, BAL at TOR ($4,200): With a .943 OPS and .398 wOBA over 134 plate apparances against righties since joining the Orioles, Beckham is a strong lean. He's settled into the leadoff spot and draws a target-worthy matchup against Joe Biagini (5.77 ERA through his 12 starts).

OUTFIELD

Aaron Judge, NYY at TB ($5,200): With a .160 BABIP and .238 wOBA against southpaws in the second half, Judge is a contrarian option with statistical correction ahead. The slugger is a game removed from a multi-homer showing, and Blake Snell allowed six runs (two long flies) in his last outing.

Byron Buxton, MIN vs. SD ($4,300): Opposing starter Travis Wood has surrendered a .372 on-base percentage and .375 wOBA to right-handed hitters over the past two seasons, and Buxton is having a strong second half. The outfield boasts a .368 ISO and .498 wOBA against lefties since the All-Star break.

David Peralta, ARI vs. COL ($3,900): As noted, this isn't a high-end matchup for Peralta and the Diamondbacks against Jon Gray, but there's upside. Peralta also enters with a manageable salary and a .359 on-base percentage and .354 wOBA against right-handed hurlers for the campaign. He should be scarcely owned, too.
