Dream11 Fantasy Soccer: Aston Villa v. Chelsea Preview

This article is part of our Dream11 Fantasy Soccer series.

Game Preview

Aston Villa embark on their second game following the restart of the season and, truth be told, they were happy to escape with a point from Wednesday's match against Sheffield United since the Blades had a goal disallowed that should've been validated. The Villains enter this game in 19th place of the standings with 26 points, and they have taken just one point out of their last 15 available. Chelsea, on the other hand, enter in a much better state with just one defeat in their last five contests and currently sit fourth with 48 points, meaning they control their own destiny when it comes to qualifying for next year's UEFA Champions League. It wouldn't be excessive to say the Blues are massive favorites, so they should be able to control the game with absolute ease.

Top Picks

Tammy Abraham, Chelsea: Abraham's long-term place as Chelsea's starting striker might be in jeopardy following the signing of Timo Werner, but the towering forward has the final matches of the 2019-20 Premier League season to prove his worth. He has been excellent this season and faces a great matchup, as no team has conceded more goals than the Villains (56).

Christian Pulisic, Chelsea: The USMNT international is expected to get the start right behind Tammy Abraham, and this could be a very intriguing situation due to Villa's defensive problems. Like Abraham, Pulisic needs to prove his value to Frank Lampard due to the impending arrivals of both Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, and he faces a great matchup to do so.

Captain and Vice-Captain Options

  1. Tammy Abraham
  2. Christian Pulisic
