Placing first touchdown scorer bets is one of the most fun ways to kick off a game. Before we get into my picks for Super Bowl LX, it's important to note that first TD scorer predictions are a high-risk, high-reward option. They are best in small, responsible wagers. It's hard enough to figure out who scores over a full game – predicting the first TD is even more volatile.

With that out of the way, let's get into my first touchdown scorer predictions for Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.

Hunter Henry Super Bowl First Touchdown Scorer: +1600

When Hunter Henry finds the end zone, it tends to come early. Henry has scored in seven of his 20 appearances this season. His score has accounted for the Patriots' first TD in five of those seven games, and he has been the overall first TD scorer once (in the Wild Card Round).

Two of New England's three first TDs in the playoffs have been passing TDs. If you think that trend continues, Henry is the best bet. If the Patriots get in close, the numbers say the ball will go his way.

He was targeted a whopping 22 times inside the 20-yard line this season. That was the sixth-most red zone targets in the league and gives him 10 more than Stefon Diggs, who was second on the team with 12 such looks.

AJ Barner Super Bowl First Touchdown Scorer: +1200

We'll go with back-to-back tight ends here. If the Seahawks strike first, AJ Barner is a tremendous value at +1200. Barner finished the regular-season tied with Cooper Kupp for the second-most red zone targets on the team (12). But Barner was way more efficient, catching 9 of 12 looks for three scores while Kupp hauled in seven of 12 for two TDs.

That's a very small sample size, but things tilt even further in his favor the closer Seattle gets to the goal line. Barner was also second on the team with six targets inside the 10-yard line, but he only finished one such target behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba. JSN was light years ahead of every Seattle pass-catcher in pretty much every other stat, so that gap being this small is notable.

But the real differentiator is Barner's role as a rusher. When Seattle goes into tush-push mode, Barner has been the go-to guy. His 10 regular-season rush attempts had him tied for third among all tight ends, but he'd actually be No. 2 if we remove Taysom Hill, who is more offensive weapon than tight end.

Zach Charbonnet was Seattle's primary short-yardage and goal-line back this season, but he's out for the year with a torn ACL. His absence might make the Seahawks more likely to rely on a Barner tush push than they would be otherwise. At +1200, he's one of the best values on the board.

DeMario Douglas Super Bowl First Touchdown Scorer: +3500

At +3500 this is a real long shot, but there's a lot to like about DeMario Douglas. Like Hunter Henry, when Douglas scores, it tends to come early. Including the playoffs, Douglas has scored four touchdowns this season. All four were the Patriots' first TD of the game, and he was the overall first TD scorer in three of those four. That includes the Divisional Round against the Houston Texans, when his 28-yard score was the first TD of the game.

At 5-foot-8, Douglas doesn't look like the prototypical red zone WR. But he's used inside the 20-yard line far more often than you might think. He was third on the team with seven red zone targets this season, beating out NE's big-bodied WRs Mac Hollins (five) and Kayshon Boutte (four).

Whether it's from long distance or in close, Douglas is a great value at +3500.

Kenneth Walker Super Bowl First Touchdown Scorer: +340

We'll go from our biggest long shot to the safest bet on the board. Kenneth Walker is the most expensive player in the first TD market for good reason. The Seahawks' offense has scored eight TDs this postseason. Walker has accounted for four of those TDs – JSN is the only other Seahawk with multiple scores in the playoffs.

Walker also started things off with a two-yard TD in the NFC Championship, cashing in on his newfound role as Seattle's goal-line back now that Zach Charbonnet is out for the year.

If Seattle gets in close and strikes first, Walker is probably going to be the one to cross the goal line. The Seahawks have four touchdowns from inside the 10-yard line in the playoffs – Walker has accounted for three of those four TDs. He's well worth the price of admission at +340.
