SLATE PREVIEW
Minnesota (vs. Vancouver), Vegas (vs. Calgary), Edmonton (vs. Chicago), Carolina (vs. Columbus), Dallas (vs. Winnipeg) and Tampa Bay (vs. Pittsburgh) are the biggest favorites on the Moneyline. The Over/under for Blue Jackets-Hurricanes, Bruins-Panthers, Canadiens-Rangers, Sabres-Senators, Penguins-Lightning, Capitals-Devils, Canucks-Wild, Blackhawks-Oilers and Maple Leafs-Sharks is 6.5 goals. The Mammoth-Kraken matchup is expected to yield 6.0 goals, while the remaining contests anticipate 5.5 goals.
GOALIES
Filip Gustavsson, MIN vs. VAN ($8,500): Gustavsson has lost his last two outings, but he has bounce-back appeal for Thursday's slate. Before his two-game slide, he won five of six appearances while allowing only 11 goals on 153 shots. Gustavsson made 26 saves in a 5-2 win over Vancouver on Nov. 1.
Logan Thompson, WSH at NJD ($7,500): Thompson has gone 5-1-1 in his past seven appearances while making 190 saves on 209 shots. Despite allowing four goals in each of his last three starts, he has emerged victorious on each occasion. He has also gone 2-0-1 versus the Devils this campaign with a 1.91 GAA and a .940 save percentage.
VALUE PLAYS/ONE-OFFS
Macklin Celebrini, SJS vs. TOR ($9,300): Celebrini has amassed five goals and four assists during his three-game point streak. He has earned a multipoint performance in each contest while posting four power-play points (two goals, two assists) and 15 shots on net. Celebrini had one assist and six shots on goal in a 3-2 overtime win over the Maple Leafs on Dec. 11.
Nikolaj Ehlers, CAR vs. CBJ ($5,400): Ehlers wrapped up a productive March with nine goals and 20 points in 15 games. He notched four goals and five assists on the power play during that stretch and registered 41 shots on target. Ehlers has four goals on 17 shots and four assists in his last five outings. He also has one goal, three helpers and nine shots in three previous meetings against the Blue Jackets this campaign.
Viktor Arvidsson, BOS at FLA ($4,500): Arvidsson has compiled five goals on 13 shots and four assists across his four-game point streak. He was all over the scoresheet in March, accumulating eight goals, 20 points and 34 shots on net in 15 games. Arvidsson has two goals, two helpers and 13 shots in his last five matches against the Panthers.
FORWARD LINE STACK
Capitals at Devils
Alex Ovechkin (W - $5,800), Dylan Strome (C - $4,000), Connor McMichael (W - $3,600)
Ovechkin has netted seven goals on 22 shots in seven games heading into Thursday night's action. He has five goals and one assist during a three-game point streak. Strome has accounted for one goal, three assists and five shots in his past five appearances. McMichael has collected six assists and eight shots on goal in his last seven contests. He has four helpers during his three-game point streak.
Washington's top line has considerable bang for the buck upside for Thursday's slate. The trio has combined for three goals and eight points in three games against New Jersey this season.
DEFENSEMEN
Quinn Hughes, MIN vs. VAN ($6,900): Hughes has provided five assists (two on the power play), nine shots on goal and eight blocked shots in his last four games. Thursday's contest will be his first against his former team since he was acquired by the Wild on Dec. 12.
Adam Fox, NYR vs. MTL ($6,200): Fox has generated one goal, six assists (four on the power play), six shots on target and seven blocked shots during his four-game point streak. He has racked up seven assists and eight shots in his last four appearances against the Canadiens.
Mikhail Sergachev, UTA at SEA ($5,400): Sergachev has eight assists (four on the power play), three shots on goal and 12 blocked shots in his past four appearances. He has picked up one goal, four points and 13 shots in his last five outings against the Kraken.
