2026 Fantasy Outlook
Branch built up enough of a reputation that it was actually disappointing when he ran a 4.35 40 at the 2026 Combine. That's more than fast enough by most standards, but Branch is facing a high bar because of numerous other questions in his prospect profile. At USC and Georgia, he mostly found success on kick returns, screens and other planned touches, rather than doing damage with crisp routes or contested catches downfield. Branch is strong for his size, but size is nonetheless an issue at 5-foot-9, 177. The Falcons saw enough to make him a third-round pick, 79th overall, potentially setting up open competition between Branch, Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zaccheaus for WR snaps behind No. 1 target Drake London. New offensive coordinator Tommy Rees may try to get the complementary threats involved more than his predecessor did, but there may be some redundancy with Branch and Zaccheaus. Read Past Outlooks
Bound for Atlanta
The Falcons selected Branch in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 79th overall.
ANALYSIS
Branch (5-foot-9, 177 pounds) started two seasons at USC before transferring to Georgia in 2025, where he broke out with a career-best 81 catches for 811 yards and six TDs across 14 games. The 22-year-old lacks size but boasts quick twitch and tremendous speed (4.35 second 40-yard dash), meaning the most natural areas for him to contribute at the NFL-level may be the slot or in a gadget role, as well as potentially in the return game -- a skill set that nicely complements WRs Drake London, Jahan Dotson and Olamide Zaccheaus. The extent of Branch's role as a rookie may be notably determined by how much chemistry he's able to develop with dueling QBs Michael Penix (ACL) and Tua Tagovailoa this offseason. Branch was arrested Sunday and is facing misdemeanor charges.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Mocked to Atlanta by Baumgardner
In his latest mock, Nick Baumgardner of The Athletic has the Falcons selecting Branch in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 79th overall.
ANALYSIS
Baumgardner notes that Branch is his favorite Georgia receiver product since Ladd McConkey, with both players profiling as dependable and crafty wideouts after the catch. Branch spent the first two years of his three-year college career at USC before transferring to Georgia in 2025. With the Bulldogs, he caught 81 passes for 811 yards and six touchdowns across 14 games and was selected to the All-SEC Second-Team. Lance Zierlein of NFL.com labels Branch as a slot receiver with the speed, strength and agility to generate explosive plays, which would fit in nicely with a Falcons offense consisting of elite playmakers that includes Bijan Robinson and Drake London.
