2026 Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Legette is running low on believers, looking very much like a first-round bust after back-to-back seasons with fewer than 500 receiving yards. Last year, he played 15 regular-season games and scored 48 percent of his PPR points in two of them. For a second straight year, he was vastly outperformed by Jalen Coker, an undrafted product of the same rookie class. Legette, 25, now heads into a make-or-break season, perhaps getting one last chance to compete for a top-three job before the Panthers move on and he enters journeyman territory. There's still something tempting about his 4.39 speed in a 221-pound frame, but the results so far suggest rookie third-round pick Chris Brazzell may not have trouble unseating Legette for the No. 3 WR job. Panthers add third-round WR
Legette is facing additional competition for snaps and targets after Carolina selected Chris Brazzell in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
ANALYSIS
Legette, a 2024 first-round pick, is coming off a disappointing Year 2 campaign in which he totaled just a 35-353-3 line (64 targets) across 15 regular-season appearances, lower totals than not only Tetairoa McMillan, the 2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year, but also Jalen Coker, who logged just 11 regular-season appearances. As such, Legette projects as no better than the No. 3 WR for QB Bryce Young in 2026, and his role as a deep threat could be challenged by Brazzell, who boasts 4.37 speed and a 6-foot-4 frame. This offseason will be crucial for Legette, as his already marginal fantasy value will take a steep hit if Brazzell is able to encroach on reps in three-wide sets alongside McMillan and Coker.

2024
Widely disparaged as a "reach" after Carolina took him 32nd overall last spring, Legette failed to dissuade his detractors in 2024, getting outplayed by a 34-year-old Adam Thielen and undrafted rookie Jalen Coker. Few wideouts match Legette's combination of bulk (6-1, 221) and straight-line speed (4.39 40), but he comes with the usual fluidity limitations that accompany WR prospects his size, in addition to concerns about his lack of production at South Carolina prior to his final collegiate season (he had 1,255 yards as a 22-year-old, fifth-year senior, after 423 total receiving yards his first four seasons). The draft capital and physical tools mean Legette will get a chance to develop and handle a starting job again, but rookie first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan figures to draw far more targets.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Will be focal point of passing game
Legette will become one of the featured wide receivers in Carolina's passing game, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The Panthers traded away Diontae Johnson on Tuesday, opening up the No. 1 wide receiver job. Johnson's 26.3 percent target rate was nearly double that of Legette, though the rookie pass catcher will now get the chance to prove that he should be viewed as a long-term contributor to the offense. While inconsistent, Legette has shown moments of promise this season, highlighted by three touchdown receptions in his last five games. Jalen Coker also figures to see an increased role.
