2025 Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Apart from staying healthy, not much went right during Odunze's rookie season. He arrived in Chicago as the ninth overall pick last spring, alongside No. 1 overall selection Caleb Williams, who also had WR DJ Moore, WR Keenan Allen and TE Cole Kmet at his disposal. Odunze ultimately drew 101 targets and even had a few big games, but there were 12 instances of 42 or fewer receiving yards and 11 with single-digit PPR points. Among 32 WRs that ran 500-plus routes, Odunze was 24th in target rate (17.3 percent) and 23rd in yards per route (1.26) despite ranking 10th in YAC average (4.8). The Bears, meanwhile, were 13th in pass attempts but 31st in passing yards, undone by a combination of poor blocking, bad coaching and an ugly rookie season from Williams. None of that deterred Detroit's star offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, who had turned down a slew of other head-coach opportunities the past two years. After hiring Johnson, the Bears acquired three new veteran starters for their interior O-line, including two-time All-Pro Joe Thuney. They also let Allen walk, which means Odunze will have less competition for snaps/targets in addition to better coaching and blocking. It all adds up to a strong Year 2 breakout case, backed by Odunze's excellent physical traits (he ran a 4.45 40 at 6-3, 212) and standout college production (2,785 receiving yards his final two years at Washington). He isn't exactly under the radar, unfortunately, so he only makes sense at ADP if you expect a big step forward for Chicago's offense as a whole. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Quiet finish to first pro season
Odunze caught both his targets for 18 yards in the Bears' 24-22 win over the Packers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Even though Chicago selected Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 draft, he was the clear third receiver for the team behind DJ Moore and Keenan Allen. Still, the rookie hauled in 54 of 101 targets for 734 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games. Allen is headed for free agency, so Odunze could move into a larger role in the offense in 2025. With better coaching to help Caleb Williams improve as well, Odunze is a strong candidate for a second-year breakout.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
It's hard to find a weakness in Odunze's prospect profile, especially after he confirmed his athleticism at the combine with a 4.45 40-yard dash at 6-3, 212. He was one of the few wideouts to go through nearly every test, and each of his scores landed above the 60th percentile among WRs the past two decades, including a 4.03-second short shuttle (93rd percentile). Amari Cooper, Chris Godwin and Ja'Marr Chase are the only 200-plus-pound WRs that have posted better times than Odunze in both the 40-yard dash and short shuttle. The Washington product also checks boxes for age (22 in June) and production (1,145 receiving yards as a junior and an FCS-leading 1,640 as a senior). The only real ding against him is that Odunze had only 483 receiving yards in 13 games his first two seasons before coach Kalen DeBoer and QB Michael Penix lifted the Huskies to national prominence. And even that feels like nitpicking, considering Odunze caught six passes in four games as an 18-year-old freshman during a pandemic-shortened season. The bust risk is low long term, but he does have some short-term concerns in Chicago in the form of target/snap competition from veteran WRs DJ Moore and Keenan Allen. The Bears also have a pair of capable pass catchers at tight end (Cole Kmet, Gerald Everett), making it hard for any one player to see a dominant share of targets -- especially a rookie.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
More snaps with Allen injury?
Odunze could serve as the Bears' de facto No. 2 wide receiver for Sunday's game against the Vikings after Keenan Allen rolled his ankle during Friday's practice, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Matt Eberflus said after Friday's practice that the Bears are "hopeful" that Allen will play Sunday, and the veteran wideout relayed that he expects to play through his ankle injury, per Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. Allen could operate on a limited snap count to mitigate the risk of aggravating the issue, and in that case, Odunze would likely see more work in two-wideout sets alongside DJ Moore. Over the four regular-season games since Chicago's Week 7 bye, Odunze has logged 17 catches on 29 targets for 233 yards while adding 13 rushing yards on two carries.
