Reggie Virgil

21-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
2026 Fantasy Outlook
The Cardinals took Virgil in the fifth round this spring, 143rd overall, adding another tall wideout behind returning starters Marvin Harrison and Michael Wilson. On paper, there's not a ton to like, with Virgil running a 4.57 40 at the 2026 NFL Combine despite being one of the thinnest wideouts (6-foot-3, 187) in his draft class (or any other). He put up solid numbers at Miami (OH) and Texas Tech the past two years -- receiving lines of 41-816-9 and 57-705-6 -- but both teams had another WR with slightly more target volume. Of course, the Cardinals won't be counting on Virgil to dominate targets, and his extensive experience on special teams is a positive for sticking around as depth (relative to other thin WRs who may not even get a shot there). If things really go well this summer, Virgil might even get a shot at challenging Kendrick Bourne for the No. 3 receiver role, rather than training as a backup to Wilson/Harrison and playing special teams. The Cardinals selected Virgil in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 143rd overall.
ANALYSIS
Virgil leveraged his third-year breakout at Miami (Ohio) in 2024 into a starting role at Texas Tech in 2025. The 21-year-old finished his final season with 57 receptions for 705 yards and six touchdowns. He's a tall, lanky receiver at 6-foot-3, 187 pounds, and while that didn't limit him in college, it will be a bigger impediment to playing time in the NFL. Out of the gate, Virgil, who ran a 4.57 40-yard dash at the 2026 NFL Combine, figures to be a candidate to compete for special-teams work until he can carve out an offensive role in an Arizona WR corps that's led by Marvin Harrison and Michael Wilson.

Bucs add WR late in Brugler mock

April 18, 2026
Dane Brugler of The Athletic has the Buccaneers using the 155th overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft on Virgil.
ANALYSIS
Tampa Bay's wide receiver room took a big hit in the offseason after Mike Evans opted to sign a three-year deal with the 49ers in March, leaving Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka and Jalen McMillan as the Buccaneers' top wideouts on the roster. Virgil is ranked by Brugler as the No. 23 wide receiver in the draft, with the former profiling as a "silky-smooth athlete" with the speed and ball skills that could help him succeed at the next level as an outside receiver. He spent the final year of his four-year college career with Texas Tech, where he started in 14 games and logged 57 catches for 705 yards and six touchdowns. Virgil also has experience on kickoff and punt coverage from his first three seasons at Miami, which should help him break onto a 53-man roster at the end of training camp.
