Taking part in OTAs
Lloyd (calf/hamstring) is participating in OTAs on Wednesday, Weston Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Lloyd missed the entire 2025 season due to a hamstring injury suffered during the preseason, and then a calf issue he sustained while rehabbing. That said, Green Bay had left the window open for Lloyd to make a potential postseason return. The 2024 third-round pick is now heading into Year 3 with only one career regular-season appearance under his belt, so his focal task this offseason will be to prove he can remain healthy. Lloyd did not take any team reps Wednesday, per Ryan Wood of USA Today, so at this stage the Packers may still be taking a cautious approach to his activity level.

Lloyd entered the NFL with some promise as a third-round pick in 2024, but multiple lower-body injuries and a case of appendicitis limited him to just one regular-season appearance and six carries. He now has a chance to compete with Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks for the No. 2 RB job behind Josh Jacobs, after the Packers declined to add any draft picks or veteran free agents at the position this offseason. With 4.46 speed at 5-foot-9, 220 pounds, Lloyd has the raw athletic traits to be a starting running back in the NFL, but it's less clear if he has the skills to match. He fumbled 10 times on 325 touches in college, and he never caught more than 18 passes in a season. Lloyd's performance this summer will be crucial for determining his NFL future.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur implied Tuesday that Lloyd (calf/hamstring) won't be activated this week and will stay on injured reserve for the remainder of the season, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports. "I'm not going to say no," LaFleur said, when asked about Lloyd potentially returning. "But I think you can use deductive reasoning on that one."

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Leading RB2 candidate if healthy
Matt Schneidman of The Athletic believes Lloyd will be the top backup to Josh Jacobs if Lloyd can stay healthy in 2026.
ANALYSIS
Lloyd has appeared in just one regular-season game since the Packers drafted him in the third round in 2024, and he missed the entire 2025 season due to a hamstring injury. Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks worked as Jacobs' backups in 2025, but Wilson subsequently left for the Seahawks in free agency. If Lloyd can finally stay on the field, he has a decent chance of beating out Brooks. "He can do things that the other guys can't in terms of his speed and quickness," Packers running backs coach Ben Sirmans said Wednesday of Lloyd. "I feel confident that he's finally gotten to that point where he can be in there and be ready to play a full season."
