Chris Brooks

26-Year-Old Running BackRB
Green Bay Packers
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Brooks played all 17 regular-season games for the Packers in 2025, but there wasn't much else that stood out for the BYU product in his third NFL campaign. His 3.9 yards per carry were a career low, coming on just 27 totes, and he splits his time almost equally between offense and special teams. Despite good size and a strong athletic profile, Brooks lacks the burst to hit holes quickly and struggled to gain yards after contact last year, although he did better in that area his first two seasons in the league. Josh Jacobs remains entrenched atop the depth chart for Green Bay, but with Emanuel Wilson now in Seattle, Brooks has the inside track on the No. 2 job simply due to his familiarity with Matt LaFleur's scheme, unless MarShawn Lloyd can finally stay healthy and show some kind of spark. Inks two-year extension

March 4, 2026
Brooks agreed to terms Wednesday on a two-year, $4.85 million contract extension with the Packers, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Brooks operated as Green Bay's clear No. 3 running back across 17 regular-season appearances in 2025, logging 27 carries for 106 yards and 13 catches for 91 yards (17 targets) behind Josh Jacobs and Emanuel Wilson. Jacobs remains under contract with the team and positioned for a workhorse role, while Wilson isn't expected to be tendered ahead of free agency. Pending further additions to the backfield, that leaves Brooks in position to potentially compete with 2024 third-rounder MarShawn Lloyd (hamstring), who spent all of 2025 on IR, for the No. 2 role behind Jacobs.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Brooks suited up for nine games as a rookie, rushing 19 times for a modest 106 yards. At 5.6 YPC, Brooks at last showed an ability to fit in coach Mike McDaniel's rushing scheme, but he approaches Year 2 buried on the depth chart. Starters Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane are returning, with fourth-rounder Jaylen Wright adding a layer of firm competition for depth snaps. It's difficult to envision Brooks getting opportunities in 2024, but he's versatile enough to produce if he does get a chance.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
May be relegated to RB3 role
RBGreen Bay Packers
May 10, 2026
Matt Schneidman of The Athletic believes MarShawn Lloyd could leapfrog Brooks on the depth chart if Lloyd is healthy in 2026.
ANALYSIS
Brooks finished third among Green Bay's running backs with 27 carries in the 2025 regular season, behind Josh Jacobs' 234 and Emanuel Wilson's 125, while Lloyd missed the entire campaign due to a hamstring injury. Wilson subsequently signed with the Seahawks in the offseason, leaving the top backup role behind Jacobs up for grabs. Brooks has a solid career average of 4.8 yards per carry in 41 regular-season games, while Lloyd has just one regular-season appearance in his career, but the Packers' coaching staff has been impressed by Lloyd's speed and believe the 2024 third-round pick could be ready to stay healthy and contribute.
