2026 Fantasy Outlook
A sixth-round pick in 2024, Vidal saw little action as a rookie but got a chance in 2025 due to injuries to both Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton. Vidal seized the opportunity, topped 100 rushing yards in two of his first three starts before finishing the season with 779 scrimmage yards and four total touchdowns over 13 regular-season games. The Troy product was a good fit for Greg Roman's run-heavy scheme as a back with good power and a low center of gravity who can be hard to bring down, but Vidal might be a square peg in a round hole as Mike McDaniel takes over as the offensive coordinator for the Chargers and emphasizes speed. A healthy Hampton is the clear No. 1 RB for Los Angeles, and the team signed Keaton Mitchell away from the Ravens in the offseason to provide another breakaway threat in the open field. Vidal might still find a role as a short-yardage option, but he'll have a hard time getting the same kind of touch volume he did last year. Read Past Outlooks

Officially back with Bolts
Vidal signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender with the Chargers on Tuesday, Howard Balzer of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Los Angeles tendered the 2024 sixth-round pick as an ERFA in early March. The Chargers' offseason has seen Najee Harris (Achilles) depart in free agency, though the addition of Keaton Mitchell from Baltimore represents a new option in the backfield and potential competition for Vidal's grip on the No. 2 role behind Omarion Hampton. That said, Vidal has to be considered the favorite for the job after he broke out for 643 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 155 carries across 13 regular-season appearances in 2025, even if Mitchell ultimately sees more pass-catching reps.

2024
During his rookie campaign last year, Vidal logged 43 carries for 155 yards while adding five catches for 62 yards and a TD in 10 regular-season games, while working in a backfield that also included J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Ahead of Week 1 this time around, the 2024 sixth-rounder figures to compete with Hassan Haskins for depth slotting behind newcomers Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton, with Vidal's case for a roster spot/role in 2025 possibly hinging on him demonstrating that he can be a factor in the Chargers' passing game.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Hampton planning on playing
Vidal appears likely to share the Chargers backfield with Omarion Hampton during Sunday night's wild-card matchup against the Patriots, as the latter is planning on playing through his ankle injury, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hampton was able to get back on the practice field Friday, albeit on a limited basis, for the first time since Week 17 prep. However, Rhim reports that even if Hampton does suit up, Vidal will still see meaningful snaps, and he'd naturally step into the lead role should his rookie teammate suffer any in-game setback.
