Jordan Whittington

Whittington wasn't a prolific receiver at Texas, nor a standout during pre-draft testing, but he nonetheless built up some hype last summer after the Rams made him a sixth-round pick. Reports out of training camp suggested he was far ahead of the typical learning curve for a Day 3 pick -- a sentiment that was reinforced when he put up 126 receiving yards in two preseason games. Whittington was fourth or fifth on the depth chart for most of his rookie year, but when injuries to teammates opened up a starting job he responded with 13 catches for 151 yards on 18 targets in Weeks 4-5. He barely played for the next three months, apart from kickoff returns, before resurfacing Week 18 when the Rams rested starters and again putting up a strong stat line (3-86-0 receiving, plus two carries for 12 yards). Whittington's impressive production on a per-snap basis, along with his strength and physicality, suggest he may be the successor to Cooper Kupp in the slot for Los Angeles. The problem in terms of 2025 fantasy value is that the Rams have WRs Puka Nacua and Davante Adams locked in as their top two pass catchers, leaving Whittington and Tutu Atwell to compete for a No. 3 role that won't necessarily entail a lot of targets.
