EuroLeague Primer: Round 28 - Friday

STATS AND INFO.

THE SLATE

AX Armani Exchange Milan at Panathinaikos OPAP Athens

Status Check: Shavon Shields (AXM), Luigi Datome (AXM), Riccardo Moraschini (AXM), Ioannis Papapetrou (PAO), Stefan Jovic (PAO)

Best Bets for Success: Just two games will be played Friday, and the first one will be a big one for the lone Italian team in the EuroLeague, as a victory would leave them two wins back of the second spot in the standings. Milan continues to get pretty steady production up and down its roster, and Panathinaikos has been pretty friendly to players at all positions, so it's no easy task identifying their top fantasy options for Round 28. We're going to start with Malcolm Delaney, who averaged 24.2 DraftKings points over his last five games and faces a defense that ranks bottom-4 against guards in all of the points, assists, three-pointers and field goal attempts categories. We will also include Nicolo Melli, who has pulled down at least 10 rebounds in three straight games and faces a team allowing more rebounds than any other squad. Few players in the league are running as hot as Nemanja Nedovic, who put up at least 27.3 DraftKings points in eight of his last nine appearances. Milan will make things tough on Nedovic, as they rank top-3 against guards in all of the points, threes, field goal percentage and FGA departments, but his consistency is tough to match, and he should have extra motivation facing the club he used to play for.

DFS Darlings: It was tough to leave Georgios Papagiannis out of the top section, as the Panathinaikos big man ranks top-2 in the league in both rebounds and blocks per game. However, he has had a busy week and was held in check when these teams met in Round 15. Papagiannis does check in at just $8,600 on DraftKings, though, which is a pretty attractive number for someone who has put up at least 21.3 points on that website 13 times this season. With Papapetrou still sidelined, Howard Sant-Roos is also a decent play at $7,400. On the Milan side, don't overlook Devon Hall, who has not been putting up big numbers but has scored 15 points in back-to-back games and put up a season-high 25 points on DraftKings last time he faced the Greek club. Konstantinos Mitoglou is also intriguing, as his price has slipped to $7,500 and he too will be taking on his former club. The over/under on this game checks in below 150 points, but it is slightly higher than the total in the next contest.

Olympiacos Piraeus at FC Bayern Munich

Status Check: Nick Weiler-Babb (BAY), Ognjen Jaramaz (BAY)

Best Bets for Success: The second and final game on the slate is a big one for both clubs, as although they are separated by six spots in the standings, Olympiacos is only three games ahead of their competitors. The Greek team has been getting big-time production from both Sasha Vezenkov and Kostas Sloukas, with the latter putting up at least 25.0 points on DraftKings in four of his last five appearances and the former hitting that mark in all five contests. Bayern has been among the best defensively against both guards and forwards, so neither player has an inviting matchup in Round 28. However, Vezenkov did fall just one rebound shy of a double-double when these teams squared off in Round 15, and both players are returning some of the most average value on the slate. No one on they Bayern side has been producing as regularly as the two Olympiacos players, but Vladimir Lucic has at least put up 21.3 fantasy points in three straight games. You could make a case for Darrun Hilliard based on his play earlier this season, but it seems unlikely he will handle a full workload after returning from an extended absence just a couple days ago.

DFS Darlings: As noted, this game is not expected to be high-scoring, and in fact the over/under is one of the smallest numbers we have seen all season. Bayern will likely be down a couple players in the backcourt, so even though Olympiacos has been stout against guards, Corey Walden can be considered on DraftKings at just $7,000, and Andreas Obst could be worth a dart throw at $3,900. Othello Hunter also earns a mention with his price dipping to $7,100. On the Olympiacos side, we'll start with Moustapha Fall, who averaged 20.9 points on DraftKings over his last five outings. Shaq McKissic has also done enough recently to warrant a look at $6,800.
