If you watch a lot of streamers, notably imaqtpie, it may seem like the AD carry role is in a rough spot. However, it's imperative to know that solo queue does not equate to competitive play, and the fact is that AD carries score the highest amount of points per game along with mid laners. Therefore you must try to get at least one elite AD carry and two total on your roster in your draft.Tier 1 (in alphabetical order): Sneaky, WildTurtle, Zven
Player | Team | Points Per Game* | Kills | Deaths | Assists |
Sneaky | Cloud9 | 21.64 | 187 | 72 | 268 |
WildTurtle | Team SoloMid | 19.23 | 192 | 94 | 245 |
Zven | G2 eSports | 20.19 | 135 | 52 | 221 |
*Points Per Game are based on the Fantasy LCS scoring system found: http://fantasy.na.lolesports.com/en-US
Zven's kill total dipped to only 135 in the Summer Split, but his points-per-game total was still the third best in the league. I think Zven is the most talented AD carry in Europe, playing for the two-time defending champions, making him an elite level performer again. G2 will have stiffer competition in Europe this year, but should remain an elite-level team.
WildTurtle returns to TSM and should see similar production as he enjoyed last season on Immortals. While not the same caliber carry as Doublelift, Turtle is still an upper-level AD carry, and rejoining TSM helps him as the rest of the lineup remains the same. He's been there before, so there should be no issues with settling in; look for him to push 200 kills again this split after finishing with 192 in the Summer.
Sneaky led all AD carries with 21.64 points per game during the Summer Split, finishing third in kills and second in assists among marksmen. With only one lineup change coming into the season Cloud9 should remain a top-level team in the NA LCS. Sneaky is reliable, and along with Jensen and Impact creates a nice trifecta of carries in every lane for C9.
Tier 2: Rekkles, Steeelback
Player | Team | Points Per Game | Kills | Deaths | Assists |
Rekkles | Fnatic | 19.72 | 133 | 70 | 212 |
Steeelback | Vitality | 17.62 | 136 | 67 | 166 |
Even during a poor year for Fnatic, Rekkles proved his worth by finishing with the fourth-highest point-per-game total among AD carries. He's solid; he doesn't really do anything sexy, but is reliable and can be counted on especially if Fnatic bounce back. He will be the guiding force in this new-look roster and should be thought of as the carry for this team going forward.
Steeelback has proved to be a very talented marksman, carrying bottom-level teams and putting up big point totals despite being on one of the worst teams in the Summer Split. His move to Vitality should only help his totals, and if they bounce back to being a playoff-caliber team, which they should, Steeelback has the potential to work his way into the top tier of AD carries.
Tier 3: Arrow, Kobbe, Nuclear, Piglet, Stixxay
Player | Team | Points Per Game | Kills | Deaths | Assists |
Arrow | Phoenix1 | N/A* | 171 | 77 | 262 |
Kobbe | Splyce | 19.02 | 132 | 67 | 200 |
Nuclear | H2K | N/A** | N/A | N/A | N/A |
Piglet | Team Liquid | 11.62 | 22 | 21 | 27 |
Stixxay | CLG | 15.04 | 150 | 110 | 207 |
*Arrow's stats come from the LCK Summer Split
**Nuclear did not play during the Summer Split
Most of the players in this tier represent reliable options that you can use as your No. 1 AD carry, but ideally you'd like to grab one of them as your second marksman. Piglet returns to Team Liquid's starting lineup in 2017. With some of the clashing personalities now gone, Liquid look likely to play heavily around Piglet as their main carry. This could be good for Piglet's numbers, but while Team Liquid should make the playoffs, I think relying heavily on Piglet will not get them over the hump against elite teams in the NA LCS.
Stixxay and Kobbe are very similar players: both made big strides in 2016, both are solid, yet neither are truly elite-level performers for fantasy. I think they should both be very good this year, but lack the true upside to get them into upper-level tiers on this list. They are definitely worth a second AD carry spot on your roster and in most weeks should be fine to start even as a Flex.
Arrow and Nuclear are newcomers to the LCS this year. On talent alone, Arrow deserves to be in the top two tiers on this list. The problem is, I'm not sure how he will settle on Phoenix1. In my opinion, he is worth the risk if you can get him after the first three rounds. Phoenix1 should be much improved this year, and if Arrow can quickly mesh with his new team, his talent level suggests he could be ranked as high as any elite AD carry on this list.
Nuclear is a bit of a mystery. He didn't play during the Summer Split, but moves to H2K with Chei, whom he knows well from his time in Korea. H2K should be a top team in Europe with an extremely talented roster. Nuclear should be in line for a good split, and like Arrow, could move his way up these tiers over time.
Tier 4: Apollo, Cody, Hans, LOD, Samux
Player | Team | Points Per Game | Kills | Deaths | Assists |
Apollo | Team EnVyUS | 16.00 | 119 | 95 | 272 |
Cody | Immortals | N/A* | 34 | 9 | 50 |
Hans | Misfits | N/A** | 25 | 10 | 39 |
LOD | Team Dignitas | 16.40 | 159 | 75 | 200 |
Samux | Unicorns of Love | N/A*** | N/A | N/A | N/A |
*Cody's stats come from the NA Challenger Series
**Hans' stats come from the EU Challenger Series
***Samux did not play in 2016
Hopefully you'll have two ADCs before this group comes up, but if not, these players are worth using in certain matchups. I think they are all decent players, but you shouldn't expect them to carry your lineup for you. Cody is probably in the best position, as Immortals should be a very good team. Do not expect the numbers from Cody or anyone on Immortals that you saw during the 2016 season. It's a completely new lineup, so the upside is a bit capped in comparison, but he should still have a fine season.
Apollo and LOD are going to be usable week to week, depending on who they are playing. I like LOD as an upside play as Dignitas could surprise with a solid lineup that includes an elite-level top laner. LOD had the fourth-most kills among LCS marksmen during the Summer Split, so the potential is there if Dignitas can prove to be a playoff team.
Samux and Hans are newcomers to the EU LCS. Samux joins a strong UoL team riding a good wave of momentum into the new season. Without seeing him I think his upside is limited, but UoL should be a playoff team so he has the potential to be a solid AD. Hans is a talented player making his debut in the LCS. Misfits are pretty hyped up coming into the 2017 season, and while they have a shot at making the playoffs, don't expect too much from their players just yet. While Hans could have a solid split, I wouldn't expect elite level production.
