Jacksonville Jaguars
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Strange unsurprisingly set career highs in all major receiving categories in 2025 despite missing five games with a hip injury, ascending to the top of Jacksonville’s depth chart after backing up Evan Engram for two years. The 2023 second-round pick caught 46 of 60 targets for 540 yards and three touchdowns, maintaining a consistent role as a complementary target for QB Trevor Lawrence with at least three catches in all but two games. The downside is that Strange had only one game with more than 61 yards and none with more than seven targets, failing to match the weekly upside of Jaguars WRs Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas. At least two of those three WRs will likely continue to outperform the TE, with 2025 second overall pick Travis Hunter also in the mix for targets. Lawrence likes to throw the ball to his TE -- Engram led the position with 143 targets in 2023 -- but Strange is valued for versatility rather than pure receiving skills, making him unlikely to take on major target volume unless the WR room is decimated by injuries. Jacksonville drafted TE Nate Boerkircher in the second round and TE Tanner Koziol in the fifth round this spring, but both figure to start off in specialized roles behind Strange, who is entering the fourth and final season of his rookie contract. Finishes with career high in yards
TEJacksonville Jaguars
February 7, 2026
Strange finished the 2025 season with 46 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns in 12 regular-season games.
ANALYSIS
Strange became the No. 1 tight end for the Jaguars in 2025 after Evan Engram signed with Denver in free agency. In his expanded role, Strange set a career high in receiving yards and touchdowns (540 yards and three touchdowns) despite missing five games due to a hip injury that landed him on injured reserve. The 25-year-old will look to build on his career season entering 2026.

2023
Strange is set to take over full-time as Jacksonville's top tight end following the offseason departure of Evan Engram, who signed with the Broncos. The 2023 second-round pick got an extended look in that role last season while Engram dealt with injuries, catching 29 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns on 39 targets in the eight games Engram missed. Overall, Strange had 411 receiving yards and two TDs in 2024, improving significantly on his 35-yard rookie season. He had at least 59 yards on four occasions but failed to exceed 25 in any other game. The inconsistency is unlikely to change much in 2025, with second overall pick Travis Hunter joining 2024 first-round pick Brian Thomas in a talented young WR room that will demand the majority of QB Trevor Lawrence’s attention. Strange figures to spend a lot of time blocking or running simple check-down routes, as he isn't particularly fast (4.70 40) and never had more than 362 yards in a season during his four years at Penn State.
Strange played in 14 games during his rookie campaign and primarily served as Jacksonville's No. 3 tight end. He caught five of nine targets for 35 yards and a touchdown. Evan Engram is locked in as the Jags' top tight end, but the No. 2 role should be up for grabs. Strange, who was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, will be competing with Luke Farrell and Josiah Deguara for the role.
Evan Engram busted out with 766 receiving yards and four touchdowns for Jacksonville last season and is back on the franchise tag, which gives Strange a chance to develop in a secondary role after being selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Strange is a strong blocker who also caught 32 passes for 362 yards and five touchdowns during his final collegiate campaign at Penn State. He's unlikely to be fantasy relevant as a rookie with Engram atop the depth chart -- tight ends rarely are immediately productive, anyway -- but Strange is likely viewed as more of a potential long-term solution.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Potential extension candidate
TEJacksonville Jaguars
March 31, 2026
Strange and the Jaguars have started negotiations on a contract extension, Michael DiRocco of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Strange has put together consecutive solid seasons with the Jaguars, and he recorded new career-high marks in receptions, yards and touchdowns in 2025. He'll be entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2026, and general manager James Gladstone said he believes the sides are "within striking distance" of getting a new deal done. Spotrac projects that Strange will earn roughly $12 million per year, similar to deals recently signed by Pat Freiermuth, Cole Kmet and Jake Ferguson.
