Australia vs England: ICC World Cup Match 32 Preview

Hosts England will take on Australia in a must-win clash at the iconic Lord's in London on Tuesday. At the beginning of the World Cup, England were tipped to be the favourites to win the World Cup. However, their campaign suffered a major setback after they lost their previous match against Bangladesh. They had lost out to Pakistan previously as well and now need to win at least two out of their remaining three matches to guarantee a semi-final berth for them.

Australia, on the other hand, have been veey professional in this tournament. They have won all their matches barring the one against India and are well placed to qualify for the semi-finals. A victory in this match would only guarantee it. Both of their openers, David Warner and Aaron Finch, have been among the runs and their middle-order consisting of the likes of Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith have been in decent form too. The bowling attack comprising of the likes of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc is one of the bets in the tournament and hence, they are well covered in almost all departments.

England also have a good unit but their defeats to Pakistan and Bangladesh were rather surprising and unexpected. All of their batsmen have been in good form and their bowlers have picked up regular wickets too. All they need to do is to shrug the disappointment of defeat behind and come roaring back into this match with a thoroughly professional performance.

Weather and Pitch conditions: Light spells of rain are in forecast but nothing that would stop us from getting a result from the match. The pitch is generally good for batting but the overcast conditions and the locked moisture can give the pacers a little bit of help.

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-Keeper: Jos Buttler (9 Cr)

He is the best available wicket-keeper in this match. Jonny Bairstow has less chances of surviving against the pace of Mitchell Starc and Pat  Cummins and Alex Carey bats too low down the order. So, Buttler is the perfect choice as he is a middle order bat. He scored a century against Pakistan and has been in good overall form as well.

Batsman: David Warner (10.5 Cr)

He is the in-form batsman. Warner scored 166 runs in the last match against Bangladesh and is currently the second highest run-getter in the tournament with a tally of 447 runs.

All-Rounder: Moeen Ali (8 Cr)

He may seem to be an odd choice considering that there are the likes of Ben Stokes, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis as well. However, he will have an advantage with his off-spin as three of Australia's top seven batsmen are left-handers. Moreover, he comes at a cheap price of 8 credits too.

Bowler: Mitchell Starc (9 Cr)

The left-arm Australian pacer is the joint highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 15 wickets to his name at an average of 20.26. He will be Australia's main strike-weapon against England once again.

Captain: David Warner

Vice-Captain: Jos Buttler

Predicted Playing XI:

England (From): James Vince, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan(c), Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler(w), Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, Mark Wood

Australia (From): David Warner, Aaron Finch(c), Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey(w), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa
