Tuesday won't be the busiest of nights in the NBA, but it won't be that quiet, either, with six games on the schedule. The night will be loaded with star power considering the Nets, Clippers and Celtics will be among the teams in action. As far as narrowing down the field for your DFS lineups, here are some players to consider, as well as a few to potentially avoid.
GUARDS
Damian Lillard, POR at WAS ($49): This is a matchup made in heaven for Lillard. The Blazers are reeling with injuries right now, so they have asked Lillard to carry their offense more than ever. He's responded with a usage rate of 31.2 percent while also racking up plenty of rebounds and assists. Look for him to dominate a Wizards team that has played at the fastest pace and has the second-worst defensive rating in the league.
Cole Anthony, ORL vs. TOR ($17): Known more for his scoring abilities, Anthony has dished out at least six assists in four of the last five games. The Magic will need more of that from him moving forward with Aaron Gordon (ankle) out for at least four weeks. Add in the possibility for more shot attempts with Gordon sidelined and Anthony is an intriguing option at his budget-friendly salary.
Guard to Avoid
Kemba Walker, BOS at GS ($23): Walker went cold from the field against the Lakers on Saturday, shooting 1-for-12 on his way to four points. He played 28 minutes in that matchup and hasn't logged more than 29 minutes in a game this season. The result has been him scoring 27.4 Yahoo points or fewer in four of six contests. With the likelihood that he continues to see limited playing time, he's not very appealing in DFS.
FORWARDS
Kawhi Leonard, LAC at BKN ($42): Leonard has a high floor considering he hasn't scored fewer than 30.7 Yahoo points in a game this season. He's been dialed in of late, scoring at least 50.4 Yahoo points in five of his last nine games, helping boost his season average to 46.1 Yahoo points a night, overall. He should have plenty of opportunities to stuff the stat sheet in this matchup given that the Nets have played at the fourth-fastest pace in the league.
Jeff Green, BKN vs. LAC ($12): Green has quietly become an important member of the Nets. With their limited depth because of the James Harden trade, he's averaged 32 minutes across the last 10 games. While his numbers aren't off the charts, he did average 13 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and one steal during that stretch, making him an intriguing option at near the minimum salary.
Forward to Avoid
Draymond Green, GS vs. BOS ($19): Green has seen his scoring contributions fall off the map, averaging just 4.8 points a game. As if shooting 34.9 percent from the field wasn't bad enough, his usage rate is only 7.2 percent. Even with his ability to rack up assists, his minimal scoring upside makes him someone to avoid with plenty of other viable forward options for this slate.
CENTERS
Nikola Vucevic, ORL vs. TOR ($39): These two teams just met Sunday, a contest in which Vucevic was held to just 15 points. He shot 5-for-18 from the field, which is very uncharacteristic for him given that he has shot 47.6 percent for the season. He did somewhat salvage his night, though, with 14 rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block. With Gordon out, expect the Magic to lean even more heavily on their star center.
Khem Birch, ORL vs. TOR ($10): Birch has the potential to be one of the main beneficiaries of Gordon's absence, playing time wise. He's been productive when given the opportunity, averaging 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists across 14 games in which he has logged at least 20 minutes this season. He should easily top that playing time threshold in this contest, so if you don't want to spend up for Vucevic's salary, Birch could provide value.
Center to Avoid
Chris Boucher, TOR at ORL ($19): Despite having stretches in which he was very productive earlier in the season, Boucher has started to see his playing time decline. He's logged 23 minutes or fewer in six of his last seven games, which led to him scoring 21.1 Yahoo points or fewer five times. Unless he starts playing more again, he's too risky at this salary.
