Yahoo DFS Basketball: Monday Picks

Yahoo DFS Basketball: Monday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

We start off the week with seven games on the schedule Monday. There aren't many exciting matchups, but at least we should be in for a good game when the Pacers host the Sixers. In terms of Yahoo DFS, here are some players to consider targeting for your lineup, as well as a few to avoid.

GUARDS

Devonte' Graham, CHA at POR ($26): After being held to four points by the Jazz on Friday, Graham bounced back to record 22 points, eight assists and three steals against the Suns on Sunday. While he's had his ups and downs lately, he's generally remained very productive. The Blazers have allowed the eighth-most Yahoo points per game to opposing point guards, making Graham a very appealing option.

Darius Garland, CLE at LAL ($14): Garland has been playing a ton lately, averaging 36 minutes across his last seven games. He hasn't let his added opportunities go to waste, scoring at least 27.3 Yahoo points in five of his last six contests. His price is still relatively cheap, so he's worth considering despite having to face a tough Lakers' defense.

Guard to Avoid

Shabazz Napier, MIN vs. OKC ($15): Despite still starting, Napier has logged 24 minutes or fewer in three straight games. To no surprise, he scored 16.6 Yahoo points or fewer in each of those contests. The Timberwolves are relatively healthy right now outside of Karl-Anthony Towns (knee), so it wouldn't be a surprise to see Napier once again log limited minutes.

FORWARDS

Al Horford, PHI at IND ($25): Horford has stepped up his production with Joel Embiid (finger) out, scoring 42.6 and 38.7 Yahoo points, respectively, across his last two games. While he might not like playing center, the position clearly suits him, especially when Embiid is out. With the Pacers allowing the third-most Yahoo points per game to opposing centers, this is another excellent opportunity for Horford to shine.

Miles Bridges, CHA at POR ($18): Considering the Blazers have allowed the eighth-most points per game, Graham isn't the only player on the Hornets to target. This could be a great spot to deploy Bridges, who has scored at least 32.4 Yahoo points in four of his last five games. The key is that he played at least 30 minutes in each of those contests. Across 25 games in which he has logged at least 30 minutes, he's averaged 15.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.8 steals.

Forward to Avoid

Cody Zeller, CHA at POR ($14): Bismack Biymbo injured his nose Sunday against the Suns, but X-rays came back clean and he said he expects to play Monday. The Blazers don't have much size outside of Hassan Whiteside, so Zeller might not log a ton of minutes with Biyombo available. Although he did score 34.1 Yahoo points against the Suns, he had scored 25.6 Yahoo points or fewer in each of his previous nine games.

CENTERS

Andre Drummond, DET vs. NO ($48): Drummond couldn't take advantage of a great matchup against the Bulls on Saturday, scoring only 18.8 Yahoo points. Not only did he have problems with Daniel Gafford, but he was ejected after playing just 19 minutes after throwing the ball at him. Still, Drummond is one of the focal points of the Pistons and will be facing a Pelicans team that has played at the seventh-fastest pace, so expect him to bounce back in a big way.

Enes Kanter, BOS vs. CHI ($20): Talk about making the most of limited playing time. Despite only logging 23 minutes against the Pelicans on Saturday, Kanter finished with 22 points and 19 rebounds. He's now averaged 11.4 points and 11.7 rebounds across his last 14 games, which is really noteworthy since he only played 21 minutes a night during that stretch. With the Bulls missing their defensive anchor in Wendell Carter Jr. (ankle), look or Kanter to continue his recent run of success.

Center to Avoid

JaVale McGee, LAL vs. CLE ($13): McGee is cheap, but that doesn't mean he's a cheap option to take a chance on. He's only surpassed 30 Yahoo points in a game one time over the last month and has scored 21.6 Yahoo points or fewer in three of his last five contests. As long as Dwight Howard remains healthy, McGee will continue to receive limited playing time.
