Monday's nine-game slate has potential for some huge fantasy outputs. Of the five teams that allow the most fantasy points to opposing players, four will take the court (CHA, ATL, PHO, NO).
The game with the highest over under is Clippers at Hawks (230.5). The lowest is 203.0, courtesy of Mavericks at Grizzlies. The largest spread is -11.5 in favor of the 76ers over the Suns. The closest game is expected to be between the Kings and the Thunder, with Oklahoma City favored by -2.5.
Point Guard
Kyrie Irving ($8,400), BOS at CHA
Irving, like the Celtics, got off to a slow start this season. But he's looked more comfortable within the offense lately and has turned things around. Over the past six games, Irving has averaged 28.5 points, 6.0 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals. He's gone over 50 fantasy points in half those contests, including an outburst of 70.9 FP against a formidable opponent in the Raptors. Monday's opponent, Charlotte, isn't nearly Toronto's caliber. The Hornets, in addition to allowing the most fantasy points to opposing teams overall, are allowing the 11th-most fantasy points to point guards, including the seventh-most assists. So even though the contest has a modest 217.0 over/under, that shouldn't stop you from deploying Celtics players, especially Irving.
Shooting Guard
Lou Williams ($6,800), LAC at ATL
I was hoping Williams' price would be lower given his recent performances (53.3 total FP over the past two games). But we know Williams has no problems reaching and surpassing 30 fantasy points on a regular basis, as he's done it in five of the past seven games, including a high mark of 40.4 fantasy points against Golden State. Going up against one of his former teams Monday, Williams is in a position to reach value. Atlanta has struggled to contain shooting guards, allowing the second-most fantasy points to the position. Plus, the Hawks allow the second-most fantasy points to opposing teams overall, behind the aforementioned Hornets.
Small Forward
Paul George ($10,000), OKC at SAC
With Russell Westbrook (ankle/personal) sidelined over the past six games, George has been the Thunder's main source of offense. Over that stretch, the forward has averaged 50.8 fantasy points on the back of 26.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals. His most recent performance against Phoenix was the best of the bunch, as he totaled 61.2 FP and had a combined six steals and blocks. George's opponent Monday, the Kings, allow the 10th-most fantasy points to small forwards, including the sixth-most rebounds, the fifth-most threes and fourth-highest field-goal percentage.
Power Forward
LaMarcus Aldridge ($8,100), SA at NO
Aside from one outlier performance against the Suns when Aldridge posted just 18.4 fantasy points, he's averaging 44.0 fantasy points over the past five contests. At his price, Aldridge needs about 40 fantasy points to hit value, and he's achieved that mark in six of his 15 outings. In addition to giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing players overall, the Pelicans allow the third-most fantasy points to power forwards. Coach Alvin Gentry may opt to have Anthony Davis guard Aldridge, which is a thought that may scare many DFS owners off of Aldridge for Monday's slate. But it's worth noting that in 21 previous matchups against each other, Aldridge is averaging 19.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.1 blocks.
Center
Steven Adams ($7,700), OKC at SAC
Adams may not have the highest ceiling given his skillset and role on the Thunder, but he's been extremely consistent lately. Over the past six games, he hasn't dipped below 37 fantasy points in any one contest and is averaging 39.0 FP. Stacking him with the previously mentioned Paul George could net nice value, as the Kings allow the seventh-most fantasy points to centers, including the second-most rebounds and fourth-most blocks. Given his price, Adams makes for an appropriate play in both cash and GPP contests and is a nice alternative to some of the higher-priced centers that have lower floors relative to their cost.
