Trevor Zegras

Trevor Zegras

25-Year-Old CenterC
Philadelphia Flyers
2026 Fantasy Outlook
An offseason trade to the Flyers and a fully healthy season combined to work wonders for Zegras, who set career highs in goals (26), points (67) and power-play points (23) over 81 regular-season games. He was steady early on, but had some offensive lapses later in the year. Zegras' creativity was on full display, as was his versatility. He swapped between center and wing positions throughout the campaign. He'll likely be a winger in the long run, assuming the Flyers can develop enough center talent to fill out the top six. The 25-year-old had one red flag in 2025-26 with a career-high 15.6 shooting percentage, which leaves him at risk of mild regression in 2026-27, though improvements by his teammates would likely help keep his overall production steady. Zegras is a quality mid-round target for offense and PIM. Read Past Outlooks

Earns four-year contract
CPhiladelphia Flyers
July 15, 2026
Zegras signed a four-year, $36.5 million contract with the Flyers on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Zegras is coming off a career year after posting 26 goals and 67 points in 81 regular-season games in 2025-26. The 25-year-old forward is expected to continue filling a top-six role with a spot on the first power-play unit in 2026-27. Zegras should continue to be a reliable fantasy forward regardless of if he's able to stick at center or ultimately moves to the wing later in the contract.

Zegras was limited to 57 appearances last season due to knee surgery and a three-game suspension. The 24-year-old started slow, but over his final 33 outings, Zegras registered eight goals and 22 points while averaging 2:27 of power-play ice time per game. Injuries have been a concern over the last two years, but the 2019 No. 9 overall selection has plenty of upside, as evidenced by his 61 and 65-point seasons in 2021-22 and 2022-23, respectively. He was dealt to the Flyers in the offseason, giving him an opportunity for a fresh start. The crafty forward won’t provide much in non-scoring categories, but if he can stay healthy, Zegras is talented enough to earn his first 70-point season, especially if he lands a role with the No. 1 power-play unit. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Zegras have a breakout year ahead of restricted free agency next summer.
Anyone that rolled the dice on Zegras in fantasy leagues last season paid for it in a major way. He missed more than five weeks early in the season with a lower-body injury and then suffered an ankle ailment which required surgery late in the year. All told, Zegras appeared in 31 games, posting six goals and 15 points. The 23-year-old seems like an obvious bounce-back candidate given his youth and the fact he posted 60-plus points each of the prior two seasons. Keep in mind Zegras' name has been mentioned in countless trade rumors and it wouldn't be the least bit surprising to see him on the move at some point in the not-too-distant future.
Zegras wasn't able to substantially build on his fantastic 61-point rookie campaign in 2022-23, but he certainly didn't disappoint either. The 22-year-old contributed 23 goals and 65 points in 81 outings with Anaheim last season. Although Zegras did endure some mild slumps during the year, such as his goal and three points over 10 appearances from Dec. 4-23, he was a steady contributor. The forward also played with an edge, accumulating 88 PIM last campaign, up from 50 PIM in the previous year, though he's managed a comparatively less noteworthy 102 hits in 156 games over his first two full seasons. Already the Ducks' top center and a critical part of their first power-play unit, Zegras has the potential to get even better with 180 career NHL contests now under his belt.
Zegras entered the 2021-22 campaign as a favorite to win the Calder Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year, and he performed well enough (23 goals, 61 points, including 17 with the man advantage in 75 games) to be nominated as a finalist for the award. Zegras is one of the most dynamic and creative offensive players to have entered the league in recent memory. His vision is exceptional and his shot has long been underrated. The Ducks signed John Klingberg, Ryan Strome and Frank Vatrano in unrestricted free agency this summer in hopes of improving this year, but Zegras, at age 21, is the organization's most valuable asset, both in the long and short term. He'll have both a high floor and a high ceiling from a fantasy perspective in 2022-23.
Zegras made three different stops last season and excelled at every level. He was the best player (and tournament MVP) at the World Juniors and helped Team USA win the Gold Medal. He then averaged more than a point-per-game (21 points in 17 games) with AHL San Diego, before excelling (13 points in 24 games) in a brief run with the Ducks. Zegras is an elite playmaker. He makes the most difficult passes seem routine and that should lead to high-end power-play production for many years to come. The Ducks are trying to figure out if Zegras bets fit in the middle or on the wing, but he's going to have boatloads of fantasy value regardless and it should begin to surface this season. Target him in the middle rounds of your draft.

Nearing four-year deal
CPhiladelphia Flyers
July 15, 2026
Zegras and the Flyers are close to agreeing on a four-year contract worth $36.5 million, Emily Kaplan of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Zegras will get a significant payday after the Flyers' attempt to lure Leo Carlsson from the Ducks was thwarted by Anaheim matching the offer sheet. The 25-year-old Zegras projects to be a regular in the Flyers' top six during the length of the contract. He had a career-high 67 points in 81 regular-season outings in 2025-26.
