This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.
Friday's NBA slate begins at 7:00 PM Eastern time and features 11 games. There's no shortage of selection in this slate, but the players below stand out from the pack as options to target. FanDuel's format only counts the eight highest scores in your nine-player lineup, so keep that in mind when making your selections.
POINT GUARD
Collin Sexton, CLE at BOS ($6,100): Sexton has thrived with George Hill (shoulder) out, averaging 18.9 PPG in 10 games since Hill went down. He's also dished out multiple assists in each of the past nine contests and just pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds Wednesday. The rookie first-rounder has likely played well enough to retain the starting job even when Hill returns, making him a solid option regardless of Hill's status for this one.
Dennis Smith, DAL at LAL ($6,000): Some owners will feel trepidation over playing Smith given his wrist injury, but it didn't bother him Wednesday when he racked up a well-rounded 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals in 31 minutes. Expect a stronger scoring output against a Lakers team that ranks among the league's 10 most defensive generous and is playing its second game in as many nights.
SHOOTING GUARD
J.J. Redick, PHI vs. WAS ($5,500): Redick doesn't do much besides score but he's been putting the ball in the basket at a solid rate recently, averaging 19.8 PPG over the past 10. That one skill should be enough to make Redick worth picking at $5,500 against a Wizards team that's surrendering a league-high 118.2 points per game.
Bradley Beal, WAS at PHI ($8,300): This game should feature plenty of offense from the shooting guard position, if recent production is any indication. Perhaps looking to woo potential trade suitors, Beal's been on fire over the past five games with an average of 43.0 fantasy points and at least 38.8 in each.
SMALL FORWARD
Jabari Parker, CHI at DET ($7,300): Parker's another player who's been balling out lately, averaging 42.1 fantasy points over the past five while ranging from 38.0 to 50.6. There's a good chance this isn't just a flash in the pan, as Parker's always been considered a high-ceiling player. Injuries have prevented the 2014 second overall pick from realizing that high ceiling up to this point, but a finally healthy Parker is playing some of his best basketball right now.
Evan Turner, POR vs. DEN ($4,500): They say role players perform better at home, and that's certainly been the case for Turner. He's scored at least 24.7 fantasy points in four of his past five home games while topping that mark only once in six road contests over that stretch. Turner's eclipsed 35.0 fantasy points twice this season, and both of those performances have also come at Moda Center. With Portland hosting this one, the versatile bench player should outperform his modest $4,500 valuation.
POWER FORWARD
Jerami Grant, OKC vs. ATL ($5,900): Grant has earned more minutes with strong play this season, and he's made the most of that playing time recently. Over the last four games, he's putting up 14.8 PPG and 6.0 RPG in 34 minutes per contest. Grant should keep rolling against a Hawks team that surrendering 117.8 points per game.
Jayson Tatum, BOS vs. CLE ($6,900): Tatum's picked up his level of late. His fantasy point total has climbed in each of the second-year forward's last three games, and Tatum has exploded for 36.2 fantasy points or more six times in his last 10 games. A 4-16 Cavaliers team will have a hard time slowing his roll.
CENTER
Julius Randle, NO at MIA ($7,300): Randle's posted seven double-doubles in his past eight games, even once recording a triple-double. Miami will have a hard time keeping him off the glass considering the Heat allow the fifth-most rebounds at 56.0 per game. Randle's averaging 18.1 PPG and is capable of an outburst in assists, steals or blocks on any given night, so racking up fantasy points should be easy here.
