DraftKings NBA: Tuesday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Tuesday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

Guards

D'Angelo Russell, BRK at MIA ($7,300): Russell was a tough sell in the opening month of the season but he's been much better since Caris LeVert (ankle) went down. He's posting a 28.5 usage rate in the three games that LeVert has missed and averaging over 30 minutes per game across his last four, while taking nearly 20 shots a game. The fantasy production backs up all that usage, with Russell averaging 37 DraftKings points in his last eight games. Miami is not the fearful defense they were last season, as the Heat rank in the bottom-half in both points allowed and defensive efficiency.

Josh Richardson, MIA vs. BRK ($7,100): Richardson is always worth targeting when Goran Dragic (knee) is out of the lineup, as he steps into the starting point guard role. In games without Dragic, Richardson is leading the team in usage and shots taken while averaging 35 fantasy points per game. That's fairly close to his 34.2 FP average for the season, but I like Richardson's chances against the 25th-ranked Nets' defense.

Forwards

Tim Hardaway Jr., NYK vs. POR ($7,200): Hardaway has at least 46 DraftKings points in back-to-back games, as he's really taken over as the go-to guy in New York. He leads the team with a 28.6 percent usage rate, while averaging over 18 shots a game. All that usage is hard to pass up in an appealing matchup like this, with Portland allowing the most fantasy points in the league to opposing small forwards.

Serge Ibaka, TOR at ORL ($6,000): Ibaka has quietly been one of the best power forwards in the league this season, averaging 33 DraftKings points per game, which is north of 5X value. He's been even better over recent weeks, averaging 36 fantasy points per game across his last 11 outings. The fact that Toronto is playing a big frontline like Orlando's should lock Ibaka into 30 minutes of action.

Jonathan Simmons, ORL vs. TOR ($3,300): Simmons is by no means a sexy play but he's been too good to be priced this cheaply. Most players in this $3,000 range are players who are not even in the rotation but Simmons is arguably the Magic's sixth-man. He's posting a 19 percent usage rate while averaging 25 minutes per game across his last five fixtures. Simmons fantasy production has risen to over 20 DraftKings points per game in that span. That may sound like nothing special but that's nearly 7X value at this price tag.

Centers

Nikola Vucevic, ORL vs. TOR ($8,300): Vucevic is currently having the best season of his career, averaging over 44 fantasy points per game through the first month of the season. His last three games have been even more impressive, with Vucevic putting up 54 DraftKings points per game. That sort of production is usually more indicative of a five-figure player, but Vucevic's price still hasn't risen to the point that he's no longer a strong value.

Hassan Whiteside, MIA vs. BRK ($8,000): Whiteside is having a resurgent season for Miami, as he's averaging 40 DraftKings points per game. He presents a ton of upside Tuesday, as there's no other player on this slate who matched his 82-point performance from a few weeks ago. The fact that he plays an undersized frontcourt in Brooklyn makes Whiteside all the more enticing, and the Nets enter Tuesday allowing the most fantasy points in the league to opposing centers.

Jarrett Allen, BRK at MIA ($5,700): Allen is simply too good of a player to be priced south of $6,000. He has at least 32 DraftKings points in five of his last six games, and he's scored at least 39 fantasy points in three of his last four. Facing Hassan Whiteside is no easy matchup, but it should allow Allen to approach 30 minutes of action with no one else on this roster able to match up with the size of the Heat's big man.
