Will face new UFC fighter Bashi
FeatherweightUFC
November 12, 2024
Rodriguez will take on Austin Bashi in a featherweight bout at UFC Vegas 101 on Jan. 11, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez will look to bounce back after a tough loss to Julian Erosa via submission in round one. He'll get to do it against an opponent in Bashi who is making his UFC debut after earning a contract back in September. Rodriguez has an inch of both height and reach on the UFC newcomer.

Woeful effort in submission loss
FeatherweightUFC
July 13, 2024
Rodriguez lost to Julian Erosa via submission (guillotine choke) at 4:49 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Denver.
ANALYSIS
What a disaster. Blessed with a massive edge over Erosa in terms of youth, athleticism and overall ability, Rodriguez played right into the hands of his opponent, and it cost him the fight. First, he engaged with Erosa in a back-and-forth slugfest. If that wasn't bad enough, Rodriguez, from top position, got lazy defensively on the mat with just seconds to go in the opening frame and found himself tapping out moments later. The lone bit of good news for Rodriguez is that he doesn't find himself on a two-fight losing streak after being gifted a decision by the judges in a win over Isaac Dulgarian this past March.
Booked against Erosa

Rodriguez will take on Julian Erosa in a featherweight matchup at UFC Denver on July 13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez has put together a four-fight winning streak dating back to October of 2022, though his March split decision win over Isaac Dulgarian wasn't particularly convincing. He'll look to make it five against Erosa, who also last competed in March, picking up a first-round submission victory over Ricardo Ramos. Rodriguez will give up considerable height and reach advantages to Erosa, who also has a major edge in striking and takedown volume. The problem for Erosa is that he also absorbs more than six significant strikes per minute, so Rodriguez should have more than his fair share of opportunities.
Gifted decision by judges
FeatherweightUFC
March 16, 2024
Rodriguez defeated Isaac Dulgarian via split decision (28-27, 27-28, 28-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez deserves credit for sticking with it after no-showing the first 10 minutes of this fight, but it's truly incomprehensible judging that he is walking out of the UFC Apex with a victory. At the very worst, this fight should have been a draw. Dulgarian won Round 1 10-8, while Rodriguez returned the favor in Round 3. The difference ended up being Round 2, in which two judges scored it for Rodriguez despite the fact Dulgarian landed 4-of-6 takedowns for 4:11 worth of control time in that frame alone. Just bad all the way around. C-Rod will take it, however, stretching his winning streak to four.
Slated to fight Dulgarian
FeatherweightUFC
January 8, 2024
Rodriguez will square off against Isaac Dulgarian at UFC Vegas 87 on March 16, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez is coming off a victory over Cameron Saaiman via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night in October. After losing his initial debut bout with the company, the 26-year-old is on a three-fight winning streak. His opponent, Dulgarian, is 1-0 in the UFC after defeating Francis Marshall via a Round 1 TKO in October.
Takes decision after weight miss
FeatherweightUFC
October 14, 2023
Rodriguez defeated Cameron Saaiman via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a solid effort from Rodriguez and one that would have earned him plenty of praise had he not missed weight by four pounds Friday morning. He had to forfeit 25 percent of his purse to Saaiman in order for the bout to proceed. Christian was the considerably better fighter for ten minutes before appearing to predictably tire in Round 3. He did enough early on to win, however. The 25-year-old Roufusport product has won three straight since dropping his UFC debut in February 2022, but it means little if he can't make weight his next time out.
