2026 Fantasy Outlook
Kraft was enjoying a third-year breakout prior to tearing his ACL in Week 9 last year, catching 30 of 41 targets for 469 yards and six touchdowns in seven games, with Kittle-esque antics in the open field (10.7 YAC average) resulting in an eye-popping 15.3 yards per catch. Kraft is optimistic he’ll be ready by Week 1, but it will likely take longer than that for the 25-year-old to regain his pre-injury form. Green Bay is largely returning the same personnel on offense, minus 2025 target leader Romeo Doubs and depth receiver Dontayvion Wicks, thus leaving WRs Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden as the main competition for targets from QB Jordan Love. Fellow 2023 Day 2 draft pick Luke Musgrave now seems like a non-factor for Kraft's fantasy outlook, with Musgrave no longer even assured of starting when his talented teammate is unavailable. The Packers hope Kraft will be ready for Week 1, but their medical staff has a long-running reputation for caution and has seen good results in recent years (namely Christian Watson) with less aggressive rehab timelines. Could be ready for training camp
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Wednesday that Kraft (ACL) could be back on the field by the start of, or during, training camp, Weston Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
GM Brian Gutekunst said in early May that Kraft is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a right ACL tear and is expected to be back in the starting lineup early during the 2026 regular season, but LaFleur's current prognostication is arguably even more optimistic. The 25-year-old tight end is working his way back from surgery undergone last November after suffering a season-ending injury in Week 9 of the 2025 campaign. Before going down, Kraft had firmly established himself as one of the focal points of Green Bay's passing attack. With Romeo Doubs now in New England and Dontayvion Wicks in Philadelphia, Kraft stands alongside Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden as one of Jordan Love's top pass-catching options heading into 2026. In contrast to Kraft, LaFleur said he expects Micah Parsons (ACL) to begin training camp on the PUP list, per Ryan Wood of USA Today.

After splitting snaps with fellow 2023 Day 2 pick Luke Musgrave as a rookie, Kraft started every game for the Packers in 2024 and played at least 79 percent of snaps in all but two of those. He broke out for 50 catches, 707 yards and seven touchdowns on 70 targets, while Musgrave missed 10 games with an ankle injury and drew just 10 targets in seven regular-season appearances. Kraft's most impressive trait was his elusiveness after the catch, with a 9.6 YAC average leading all qualified tight ends, well ahead of second-place George Kittle’s 7.3. Even with the assumption of some regression to his YAC numbers, Kraft has established himself as a key piece of a Packers passing game that figures to spread the ball around again in 2025 after having four players (Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Kraft) finish between 70 and 76 targets last season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Return timeline moved up?
Head coach Matt LaFleur stated Wednesday he believes Kraft, who is recovering from an ACL tear suffered in Week 9 of last season, could be ready to return at some point during training camp, Weston Hodkiewicz of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
LaFleur didn't even rule out Kraft being available for the start of camp, just a few weeks after Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst suggested an early-season return was the best-case scenario. Kraft has apparently been making even better progress since that point, and a faster-than-expected return would naturally be a boon for a Green Bay air attack that saw Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks depart this offseason.
