2026 Fantasy Outlook
Kraft was enjoying a third-year breakout prior to tearing his ACL in Week 9 last year, catching 30 of 41 targets for 469 yards and six touchdowns in seven games, with Kittle-esque antics in the open field (10.7 YAC average) resulting in an eye-popping 15.3 yards per catch. Kraft is optimistic he’ll be ready by Week 1, but it will likely take longer than that for the 25-year-old to regain his pre-injury form. Green Bay is largely returning the same personnel on offense, minus 2025 target leader Romeo Doubs and depth receiver Dontayvion Wicks, thus leaving WRs Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden as the main competition for targets from QB Jordan Love. Fellow 2023 Day 2 draft pick Luke Musgrave now seems like a non-factor for Kraft's fantasy outlook, with Musgrave no longer even assured of starting when his talented teammate is unavailable. The Packers hope Kraft will be ready for Week 1, but their medical staff has a long-running reputation for caution and has seen good results in recent years (namely Christian Watson) with less aggressive rehab timelines. Ahead of schedule in recovery
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said Tuesday that Kraft (ACL) is "a little bit ahead of schedule" in his recovery from a right ACL tear and that both he and Micah Parsons (ACL) are expected to be "back early in the [regular] season," Andrew Bandstra of Channel 3000 News reports.
ANALYSIS
Gutekunst previously labeled Kraft ahead of schedule in mid-January, and it appears the tight end's progress has continued on an encouraging track. He noted that Kraft is further along in his rehab than Parsons, which makes sense considering the timing of their respective ACL tears (early Nov. vs. mid-Dec.). Kraft, meanwhile, has stated that he's targeting a Week 1 return. He's entering his age-26 season and the final year of his deal with the Packers, though Gutekunst has confirmed talks regarding an extension are underway. After Green Bay allowed Romeo Doubs to sign elsewhere as a free agent (Patriots) and dealt Dontayvion Wicks in a trade (Eagles), Kraft is facing a clearer path to targets alongside returning wideouts Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden. In eight regular-season games prior to tearing his ACL in 2025, Kraft had emerged as Green Bay's leading receiver with 32 grabs for 489 yards and six scores on 44 targets.

After splitting snaps with fellow 2023 Day 2 pick Luke Musgrave as a rookie, Kraft started every game for the Packers in 2024 and played at least 79 percent of snaps in all but two of those. He broke out for 50 catches, 707 yards and seven touchdowns on 70 targets, while Musgrave missed 10 games with an ankle injury and drew just 10 targets in seven regular-season appearances. Kraft's most impressive trait was his elusiveness after the catch, with a 9.6 YAC average leading all qualified tight ends, well ahead of second-place George Kittle’s 7.3. Even with the assumption of some regression to his YAC numbers, Kraft has established himself as a key piece of a Packers passing game that figures to spread the ball around again in 2025 after having four players (Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Kraft) finish between 70 and 76 targets last season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could get extension
Kraft might be a candidate to receive a contract extension from the Packers this offseason, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The tight end isn't eligible for free agency until 2027, but he'd emerged as Jordan Love's most reliable pass catcher this season until his campaign was cut short by a torn ACL, and he's caught 13 touchdowns in 25 regular-season games over the last two years. Getting Kraft secured to a long-term extension this offseason would allow Green Bay to focus its efforts on deciding whether to bring back wide receiver Romeo Doubs as well, with Doubs set to become a free agent this offseason.
