2026 Fantasy Outlook
Kraft was enjoying a third-year breakout prior to tearing his ACL in Week 9 last year, catching 30 of 41 targets for 469 yards and six touchdowns in seven games, with Kittle-esque antics in the open field (10.7 YAC average) resulting in an eye-popping 15.3 yards per catch. Kraft is optimistic he’ll be ready by Week 1, but it will likely take longer than that for the 25-year-old to regain his pre-injury form. Green Bay is largely returning the same personnel on offense, minus 2025 target leader Romeo Doubs and depth receiver Dontayvion Wicks, thus leaving WRs Christian Watson, Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden as the main competition for targets from QB Jordan Love. Fellow 2023 Day 2 draft pick Luke Musgrave now seems like a non-factor for Kraft's fantasy outlook, with Musgrave no longer even assured of starting when his talented teammate is unavailable. The Packers hope Kraft will be ready for Week 1, but their medical staff has a long-running reputation for caution and has seen good results in recent years (namely Christian Watson) with less aggressive rehab timelines. Knee - ACL
June 10, 2026
Kraft (knee) said Wednesday that he expects to play Week 1 without any playing-time restrictions, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Coming back from last year's ACL tear, Kraft is absent from OTA practices but hopes to participate in training camp. Packers coach Matt LaFleur also said he hopes to have the tight end on the field during the early portion of training camp, and Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said Kraft is ahead of schedule in his rehab process. While the Packers have a well-earned reputation for caution with injured players, it sounds like all parties are on board for Kraft making a run at gaining clearance for Week 1.

After splitting snaps with fellow 2023 Day 2 pick Luke Musgrave as a rookie, Kraft started every game for the Packers in 2024 and played at least 79 percent of snaps in all but two of those. He broke out for 50 catches, 707 yards and seven touchdowns on 70 targets, while Musgrave missed 10 games with an ankle injury and drew just 10 targets in seven regular-season appearances. Kraft's most impressive trait was his elusiveness after the catch, with a 9.6 YAC average leading all qualified tight ends, well ahead of second-place George Kittle’s 7.3. Even with the assumption of some regression to his YAC numbers, Kraft has established himself as a key piece of a Packers passing game that figures to spread the ball around again in 2025 after having four players (Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and Kraft) finish between 70 and 76 targets last season.
Kraft was drafted 78th overall by the Packers in 2023, 36 picks after fellow tight end Luke Musgrave. Kraft spent most of the season backing up Musgrave, but the rookie out of South Dakota State stepped up when Musgrave missed six games down the stretch due to a lacerated kidney, catching 23 of 30 targets for 281 yards and two touchdowns over the six-week span. In 13 other games, including two playoff contests, Kraft had 98 receiving yards and one TD. Both tight ends are likely to play prominent roles in 2024, seemingly limiting one another’s fantasy upside. Neither Kraft nor Musgrave finished top four on the Packers in targets last season, and even their combined total (86) over 1,089 snaps would've ranked only 14th among individual tight ends. Jordan Love has the potential to elevate Green Bay’s passing game, but his targets likely will be spread around between the two tight ends and three or four wide receivers. It doesn't help Kraft's cause that a torn pectoral has him on the sideline for offseason practices and may even threaten his availability for training camp.
The Packers selected tight end Luke Musgrave in the second round of this year's draft, but they didn't wait long to snap up another, taking Kraft one round later. Having played collegiately at South Dakota State - an FCS school - Kraft has questions about his ability to produce at the top level. However, he has the athleticism to do so. He could get an opportunity fairly quickly, as the most proven TE on Green Bay's roster is Josiah Deguara, and Kraft is on par with Musgrave when it comes to experience.

Expects no restrictions by Week 1
TEGreen Bay Packers
June 10, 2026
Kraft, who's in the latter stages of his recovery from a torn ACL suffered in Week 9 of last season, said Wednesday he believes he'll be ready to start without any restrictions in Week 1 of the 2026 campaign, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. "With how I feel, I would say I'm gonna get all the conditioning I need in camp to start Week 1 on no pitch count," Kraft said Wednesday during Packers minicamp.
ANALYSIS
Kraft credited his optimism to the fact his rehab has gone very smoothly, with the star tight end remarking he's "doing better than expected." Kraft hit the ground running with his rehabilitation process over his first three months, and he noted Wednesday he had very minimal swelling at this point and hadn't experienced any residual pain from his treatment. Kraft also recently hit 21.5 miles per hour in his running regimen, a new milestone during his rehab process.
