2026 Fantasy Outlook
Taylor showed some flashes of promise in his rookie campaign, as the 2025 second-round pick led a putrid Jets offense with 44 catches and finished second on the team with 369 receiving yards. That production came across 13 games, as Taylor missed the final four games of 2025 due to a neck injury, which has since healed. The Jets’ QB situation was so bad that Taylor’s only touchdown came on a pass thrown by RB Breece Hall. The offseason acquisition of Geno Smith provides a sizable upgrade under center, but the Jets drafted TE Kenyon Sadiq 16th overall and WR Omar Cooper 30th overall, so Taylor is unlikely to finish higher than fifth on the team in touches behind Hall, Sadiq, Cooper and WR Garrett Wilson. If Taylor unexpectedly holds off Sadiq for targets at TE, Hall of Famer Jason Taylor’s son has a 6-foot-5, 251-pound frame that could make the younger Taylor an appealing goal-line target for Smith, who threw 19 touchdown passes for the Raiders last season, eight of which went to TEs. Jets bolster TE room in Round 1
TENew York Jets
April 24, 2026
Taylor will face increased competition for targets and playing time at tight end, as Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports that the Jets drafted Kenyon Sadiq 16th overall Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Sadiq has more upside as a pass catcher than Taylor, as the rookie first-round pick had 51 catches for 560 yards and eight touchdowns at Oregon in 2025 and set a position record with a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. That being said, Cimini believes Taylor will still get plenty of playing time, with the Jets likely to use a lot of formations featuring multiple tight ends. Taylor caught 44 of 65 targets for 369 yards and one touchdown as a rookie after being selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Taylor found an ideal landing spot in the second round of the 2025 Draft, going to the Jets with the 42nd overall pick after a college career in which he averaged 436 yards and two touchdowns per season at LSU. He’s one of the youngest incoming rookies, celebrating his 21st birthday two weeks after the draft, but he may nonetheless prove a quick study in the NFL, seeing as he was a three-year starter in the SEC and is the son of Hall of Famer Jason Taylor. (Mason) Taylor skipped drills at the combine before boosting his draft stock at LSU's pro day, where he ran a 4.65 40 and put up a lineman-like total of 28 bench-press reps at 6-foot-5, 246 pounds. While impressive raw strength doesn't always translate to good blocking, Taylor has a nice opportunity to be the Week 1 starter for a team whose veteran tight ends have failed to make a mark in the NFL as either blockers or pass catchers (combined career totals of 644 yards and one TD). The Jets figure to deploy a run-first offense with dual-threat quarterback Justin Fields, but there's nonetheless an opportunity for the rookie to see a good number of targets, as the team lacks weapons beyond WR Garrett Wilson and RB Breece Hall.

Team drafts another TE in Round 1
TENew York Jets
April 23, 2026
Taylor will have additional competition for targets after the Jets drafted Kenyon Sadiq 16th overall Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Taylor had 44 catches for 369 yards and one touchdown on 65 targets in 13 regular-season games as a rookie after being drafted in the second round in 2025. He started 11 of those games, but Taylor will likely cede the majority of pass-catching opportunities at tight end moving forward to Sadiq, who had 51 catches for 560 yards and eight touchdowns at Oregon last year.
