2026 Fantasy Outlook
Sadiq was the only tight end selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, going 16th overall to the Jets. He and fellow first-round pick WR Omar Cooper (30th overall) are now the top candidates to finish second in targets behind WR Garrett Wilson, within a Jets offense that now has Geno Smith as the QB and Frank Reich as the OC/playcaller. Sadiq had 51 catches for 560 yards and eight TDs across 14 games at Oregon in 2025, prior to an outstanding showing at the NFL Scouting Combine, where he set a TE record with his 4.39 40 and tied the TE record for the vertical jump (43.5 inches, surpassed by Eli Stowers minutes later). Sadiq is undersized at 6-foot-3, 241, but he was a willing and competent blocker at Oregon, using strength and acceleration to his advantage. He'll now compete for playing time in New York with 2025 second-round pick Mason Taylor, who was second on the team with 369 receiving yards last year. Both Sadiq and Taylor are catch-first prospects, but the latter may now be tasked with more blocking work to accommodate Sadiq's incredible athleticism. It's not yet clear whether Sadiq will see enough of the field to have fantasy value this year, but the Jets figure to get him the ball when he's out there. Read Past Outlooks
Selected by Jets
The Jets selected Sadiq in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 16th overall.
ANALYSIS
No one doubts that Sadiq (6-foot-3, 241 pounds) is a good player, and the former Oregon star clearly has compelling long-term upside due to his rare athleticism (4.39-second 40, 43.5-inch vertical jump). This pick is still somewhat puzzling, if only because the Jets just spent a second-round pick on Mason Taylor in the 2025 NFL Draft, and Taylor will be only 22 years old in May. As much as there have been NFL offenses with two tight ends providing standout fantasy utility, there haven't been very many of those and the Jets are maybe the last offense you'd accuse of such competence. With all that said, Sadiq's talent might be so loud that this is more of a problem for Taylor than Sadiq.

Good fit with McVay?
Sadiq could be the ideal selection for the Rams with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Matt Bowen of ESPN.com suggests.
ANALYSIS
While the Rams aren't in dire need at tight end, Bowen suggests it could still be the ideal fit for the athletic pass catcher out of Oregon due to Sean McVay's offensive scheme. Sadiq boasts 4.39 speed on a 6-foot-3, 241-pound frame, so Bowen envisions him as a threat down the seam for Matthew Stafford, a backside X receiver/power slot option that will draw favorable one-on-one matchups and a good after-the-catch asset on bootlegs.
