2026 Fantasy Outlook
Miller is heading into the final year of his rookie deal after having dealt with injuries throughout all three of his seasons in the league. The 2023 third-round pick is now working his way back from an ACL tear, meaning there are no guarantees he’ll be able to carve out a reserve role behind new top RB Travis Etienne, while vet Alvin Kamara and second-year pro Devin Neal remain on the roster. Prior to tearing his ACL last year, Miller appeared to be putting things together, having rushed 47 times for a career-high 193 yards and one score across seven regular-season games. Knee - ACL
June 11, 2026
Miller (knee) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Ross Jackson of LouisianaSports.Net reports.
ANALYSIS
The running back was not practicing during OTAs as recently as late May after tearing his ACL in Week 7 of the 2025 campaign. Now, though, he appears to be back, at least on a limited basis. At the moment, the 2023 third-round pick faces a crowded backfield situation in New Orleans, with free-agent signing Travis Etienne, veteran Alvin Kamara and 2025 sixth-round pick Devin Neal.

2023
It's been pretty much no-boom, all-bust with Miller since the Saints selected him in the third round out of TCU in 2023, and by now it would be understandable if someone were losing their patience, the Saints included. Miller has been injured almost constantly since that draft, playing in only 14 games, including only six games in 2024 after suffering a hamstring injury on the first day of training camp. That injury kept out Miller until Week 7, yet in his second game back Miller suffered another hamstring injury, which left him inactive for the next five weeks. Alvin Kamara is locked into a three-down role for 2025, and Miller's best-case scenario is likely one where he's a sparingly used RB2 behind Kamara. Not even that much is assured, though, because rookie sixth-round pick Devin Neal is nothing if not reliable, and the Saints could understandably find stability attractive after investing so much fruitless patience in Miller the last two years. Miller is still only 23 and might have some amount of untapped upside despite his injury issues, but if he doesn't put it all together soon a guy like Neal can take Miller's spot.
Miller's rookie season was brief and inconclusive, but it had some promising glimpses. The 2023 third-round pick out of TCU would have faced a crowded depth chart either way with Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams ahead of him, but Miller never even got the chance to compete for reps due to a preseason knee injury and then an in-season ankle sprain. The flickers of playing time in between were interesting, particularly the pass-catching upside Miller showed against New England in Week 5 (four catches for 53 yards on four targets) and the rushing output against Atlanta in Week 18 (13 carries for 73 yards and one touchdown). Kamara and Williams are still on the roster, but Miller should at least make a push for some of the work that went to Williams during his ineffective debut season in New Orleans (2.9 YPC, one TD).
Miller is arguably the wild card of the 2023 rookie running back class, both in terms of his prospect profile and his landing spot. Injury prevented Miller (5-11, 215) from pre-draft testing, leaving pertinent details such as size-adjusted speed unanswered and making it more difficult to contextualize his spectacular production at TCU. Miller averaged 6.7 yards on 361 college carries, including 1,399 yards and 17 touchdowns on 224 carries last season, but with only 29 catches in 33 games. The Saints were confident enough to draft him in the third round, though it's unclear how soon they might give him playing time with Alvin Kamara and free-agent acquisition Jamaal Williams around. Kamara's three-game suspension to open the season creates an opportunity, though it would probably be better for Miller if his teammate missed time later in the season once the rookie was more familiar with the playbook and his assignments. Even so, Miller could be involved early on, which would give him a chance to earn further playing time after Kamara's return Week 4.

Might be set for more touches
RBNew Orleans Saints
September 30, 2025
Miller could be in line for more consistent touches following a strong Week 4 performance against the Bills, Katherine Terrell of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Miller has battled injuries during his first two years as a pro, but he has been healthy so far in 2025. His touches have progressively increased, highlighted by 11 carries in Week 4. He turned that into 65 yards and a touchdown, a performance that could convince the team to give him more consistent opportunities behind starting RB Alvin Kamara.
